i was just wondering cause i heard there were some studies that claimed that it wasnt needed and that regular oats would probally be a better option.

I've been doing oat/whey shakes for years even when every one was smashing 50 grams of dextrose PWO.

no, there is no point in taking in simple carbs after a workout. might as well get some nutrients out of your carb source, that's why many turn to oats

so oats mixed with my shake is the best bet?

just a carb and protein source will do. you can blend the oats and chug it if you want, sometimes i will come home and eat a sweet potato or banana or whatever.
throwing sugar down your throat immediately after a workout though i dont do

true but wouldnt using a complex carb with your protien shake slow down absorption?

for bodybuilding you dont need that instant insulin spike and rapid absorption.

yeah but whts the point of whey protien isolate??? i thought it was all about quiker absorbtion??
