View Full Version : now i am officially 100% positively absolutly confused!

my main goal for my involvement with fitness and such is to lose fat. (at least for now). ive been really confused when it comes to my postworkout nutrition! some people tell me i should take in sugar, some people say i shouldnt, but I should still take in High GI carbs, or some say no carbs at all......etc. ive been eating a pack of peach rings (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2094/2510031274_fbd6333e09.jpg)
after every workout, which have about 30 grams of sugar and nothing else, along with my protein shake. is that ok if im tryin to lose fat??

my personal prefrence is, if you are looking to cut and your doing it the traditional body building way and your not a performance athlete, then I would absolutly NOT eat those empty calories in those peach rings or any kinda of dex or malt at any time pre or post work out included.

when cutting your are already on a caloric defecit threfore every single calorie you put into your body should hold some sort of nutrient value.

My PWO meal almost always includes 2 scoops of scivation whey and some all natural peanut butter. Every now and then I'll have 5 eggs and 4 egg whites.

Low Carb Brownie

-2 scoops whey protein (choc or vanilla)
-32g almond / peanut / whatever butter (~2 tablespoons)
-A little bit of water till about a brownie batter consistency
-1 minute 30 seconds power level 8 in microwave

Macros:

~55g Protein
~16g Fat
~7g Carb

Okay so the peach rings probably aren't a great idea for post-workout, but man, those things are good! :D

I like putting them over my eyes and pretending they are glasses. I won't eat them though, I'm not ready to be a father.

Amen to that, sounds like we have a winner. This guy is not a bodybuilding stage yet, he is in a fat loss only stage and his workouts don't make his body need the suger. At least not in the form of peach rings.

PWO shake - Protien with milk, if not all natural cholcate milk.
This serves 2 purpose's.
1. Milk fat helps with the protien digestion as added protien
2. Milk suger will raise blood sugar = insulin will drive protien in blood into muscles

PWO Meal
Full of good complex carbs, high protien, med to high fat no refined foods!

I've played with sugar PWO and no sugar PWO and no sugar works better for me.
