Dude...u serious? I'd say icecream and poptarts, but since you're probably too scared to eat anything "bad" for you, you'll probably just end up going to bed hungry.

Hmmm if I had 1400 calories to kill right now, I think a jar of chocolate chip PB could really hit the spot. Or cereal. Lots and lots of cereal.....

What makes you say that?

Because you're on an online forum asking people (who you don't even know) to give you examples of the kinds of foods that they think you should eat. I think you already knew what everyone was going to post, but for some reason you felt obligated to search for justification from other people before you had something other than lean meats/whole grains/peanut butter.

Im not really looking for justification I was hoping for someone just to tell me about something tasty. Im not into getting in my calories cleanly and no way am I gonna stuff myself with 1500 calories of clean food in one sitting.

I dont have macros, I have a calorie goal and a protein goal.

Actually I was in a similar situation earlier. Stopped at a Cuban diner and had a (10"?) chicken and egg sandwich, rice and black beans, coffee. Stupendous.

I know people preach that end of day macros are what matters, but eating 1400 cals at the end of the day does not make up for undereating the whole day.

Why is this? It was kinda hard because I was on the move all day with no food. I did eat earlier during the day but then there was a huge gap between my Post Workout Meal and when I finally ate.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about... ever heard of 24-hour energy balance?

Personally I'd love a big burrito, chicken / black beans / avocado / rice / cheese & salsa.

So tell me how eating a pint of ice cream at 10:00 PM is going to help him build muscle for the 6 hours before that?

I also may be interpreting his post wrong.. since dinner should be making up for most of those cals, and in all reality he may just be a few hundred short which is nothing to worry about.

24 hr energy balance is correct (imo) with modifications...timing is important around workouts, cannot deny that....but i do this sometimes, days i have class i'll eat breakfast, pre wo, pwo, dinner, bedtime and at bed i eat to make up for what i lacked during the day.

Not the same, and IF is ideal for gaining weight? Thought it was mostly recomping/leaning up.

I do the same thing nothing wrong with making up calories at the end of the day.

muscle growth happens all day though. but as I said earlier.. a few hundred isn't anything to really worry about, but 1400 is a different story.

Get two bananas, a tray of strawberries, a heart of celery, heart of broccoli, fill it with cranberry juice/orange juice and drink up.
