What exactly happened to me? It was after a tough weekend, didn't expect it to be so long though...

Seventeen hours eh? No missing organs? Are you rectally intact?

17hrs? That's way too long. You need to have a talk with your doctor; that is my suggestion. Having such long sleep can be caused by any number of things. Here a few that I just found:

* Psychiatric factors
* Lifestyle factors
* Socioeconomic factors
* Medical factors
* Gynecologic factors
* Sleep factors

Also, long sleep has been linked to a higher risk of death. So, I would contact my doc and try to narrow down the possibilities.

I think its the opposite for me...Any time I sleep over 11 hours I feel worse then if I just slept 8 or 9

I always sleep 10 hours a night, can't function for the day if I sleep the usual 8 hours. MANY weekends i will sleep past 15 hours a night.

I have always slept longer than others, my mother tells me even as a baby and child I slept more than anybody else. No matter what changes i make to diet, lifestyle, etc. I always sleep more than others.

Never heard of the higher death risk, but maybe i'll look into it.

I usually sleep 12 hours a night. I think it'd be funny to sleep for 24 hours at once... but not healthy... shame.
