Hi, I want to cut.

Whey Protien 50/50 or WPI?

Is there really much difference anyway?

I would just stick with Whey. If you're doing good enough cardio, then the extra carbs from whey will not hurt you in my opinion. I would say just to experiment with both and see how your body responds. Do 3 weeks on regular whey then 3 on wpi.

I am assuming this 50/50 is a whey type blend (like concentrate & isolate) ?

On an absolute scale - there are differences - depending upon what criteria you are evaluating. But unless you are living off it or have digestive problems with the protein (lactose), there will be little difference in practical "results" (define it) at the end of the day as long as you pick a quality protein that's processed correctly. That's probably what's more important to evaluate.
