I was reading on this bottle of NOW Pysllium Husk powder which says that it has 34 calories, but it also says that fiber is not digested so it has no caloric effect. Do you not count those calories towards your daily macros?

Does anybody know how much fiber is optimal to consume in a day?

No, I wouldn't count it. Apparently they're counting the fiber as calories since there's no other ingredients.

You should get 25-35g of fiber a day.

Start SLOW with this stuff. It's insoluble and will wreak havoc on your GI if consumed in excess.

Soluble fiber is counted towards calories per FDA regulations. And it's a source of soluble fiber.

Fiber may not be absorbed as a carb, but some fiber - moreso with soluble fiber and more readily fermentable fibers - is fermented in the lower intestine and reabsorbed as short chain fatty acids - yielding anywhere from 1-3 kcal/gram.
