The creatine I am taking says to take 1 heaping teaspoon 6 times daily. Is it the same to take 3 heaping teaspoons twice a day instead.

Not to be a dick, but you should probably take this question to the supplements section. I'm sure those dudes will be able to help you with whatever you need. They have a sticky specifically on creatine, and I personally found it very helpful. Cheers.

But since you're here, you don't need to load creatine

What type of creatine is that? 6 tsp is like 30g of Creatine.

At my size i take 5g pre and 5g post workout everyday.

Have I been taking too much? Is it bad for me to take as much as I have been?

30 grams is silly. Harmful? Probably not but a big waste.

Just use 5 grams / day. As mentioned, loading isn't necessary and you only should load for 2 days anyway since you'll just start pissing most of it out..

Why is loading not necessary? Why do most products say to do a 5 day loading phase?

So you can run out quicker and buy more Creatine. :)

Because research has shown that normal daily dosing brings the same saturation, though it takes a little longer but there is less waste. You see, even after 2 days of loading, you'll be excreting over 60% of what you consume. Unless you are in an imminent hurry, it's not necessary. It doesn't hurt either. But like I said, if you're going to do it, cap it at 20 grams for 2-3 days. Once you're saturated, not much is needed to maintain saturation. A 5 gram dose on workout days (i.e. 3-5x/week) is about al that's needed. If you want to take it every day, that's your choice.

It's like those bogus supplements (I think it's those Dball liquid droppers) that claim the necessity to take for 90 days before feeling the intended effects (of a atrophied wallet).

Interesting.

Thanks for the info everyone.
