I cut TO 155 @ 5'6.....flipping solid and ripped for how long I've been at it.

That's how I felt when I was cutting. I look pretty sickly in my avatar which is why I'm shooting for a lean 190+. 13 more lbs to go!

I am searching for those to help with gaining muscle, not because im scared of them. Don't jump to conclusions.

Whether I get one or not, it doesn't mean im going to change my diet for them.

Interstate? And I had a semi sideswipe me on I-90 last summer... damn hit and runs. Thankfully it just scraped paint, no major damage.

A lot of people put a lot of focus on getting a six pack as if that's the holy grail of bodybuilding/working out. When you are in the 140-150's with any type of muscle on your frame you can easily cut down and get some abs to show, which I think a lot of skinnier guys feel good about because many bigger people don't have them. When I was at 155 I could of easily cut 5lbs, but I decided that I didn't want to be a stick with abs so now I'm bulking to 175, and then I'll worry about being a normal sized person with abs. :D

I was in Janesville heading towards Madison at the time. It occurred around 10-11 pm, so I couldn't see anything until after it happened.

What was the KBB of the car before the accident?

If I would have wrecked my previous car and it was gonna 3k to fix, I woulda just junked it, re-sale was only 5k or so. But if I remember, you had a pretty new Mustang right?

Exactly.. and some people just have really unfortunate fat distribution.

edit: obviously 6'+, < 140 lbs and cutting is just ridiculous.. but 5'8", 150 might not be.

The point being is why would you waste your prime years for building muscle to lean out? I don't see a point to cutting to the single digits unless you plan on competing. You're lean enough, so keep building muscle. All that will accomplish is hindering your overall gains by cutting down when it's not necessary. Do as you wish.

Well the reason y im cutting is because iv been lifting serious for a year and a half and iv been bulking that whole year and a half....i have never done a cut and once i hit 162 i had a plan to do a cut to loose about 10 pounds and cut down my body fat and see how i would look cut since iv never done it....iv never been able to see my abs fully out either...once i get there will mantain for a lil then go back to bulking.....im waisting what 2 months?? no biggy still got plenty of time to bulk and get bigger....

I think genetics play a big role in it though. My brother and I are both genetically smaller individuals, small bone structure, long muscles, primarily slow twitch fibers. Even when I played football and hockey in my bigger days I didn't have a lot of muscle mass, but I do carry a good strength-to-weight ratio. I will never be above 160 or 170 again probably, unless I just get fat (which I'm not worried about), but I also do not want to be below 150 ever again. I don't want to look like a bodybuilder, just have a respectable physique, a healthy lifestyle and body, and be in "fit to fight" as the military likes to say.

For 99% of the population, cutting is dumb. For someone like Matty, it definitely has it's place as he is one of the gifted and dedicated who compete. But for the rest of us, just eating healthy, not obsessing over clean/unclean foods, and training smart and resting is all that is needed to maintain a healthy body.

Congrats on passing that point, but honestly its not just about height and weight. Everyone is different. I put on 5lbs and I already see a noticeable difference in the mirror. I also met a kid at the gym the other day who is the same height/weight as me, but he looks like he has 20lbs of solid muscle on me. He says that he has the world's smallest bone structure, but you get the point. Everyone is different so 10lbs of lean mass on one person is different than 10lbs on another.

at 5'10 it depends on your goal -- you would look great at a lean 180. so ut at 200.

On topic: People cut at that weight because they want to be thin. Not everyone wants to be bodybuilders. Why do they post on this forum, IDK, but it's up to the individual to reach their own goals. You don't have to help them if you don't want to, and you REALLY don't need to bash them if you think their goals are crap.

PS: @ 5'10'', I'm going for 180-190 for my first cut. After tht, keep bulking, but in much shorter intervals.

So from all of your nutritional knowledge you determined that you must starve yourself to get visible abs?? I eat at least 2k cal's a day can't really stomach too much when I g2 run mostly healthy carbs mod protein.

5 ' 9... 165 and loving it!!!!! I used to be 193 a lot bigger stronger ... bit more fat ... so I cut from 193 to 157 ... lost 35 lbs waist went from 36" to 30.5

Now that im 160-165 my face is more defined ... jaw line is cut out ... and I realized girls dont really like big guys ... 170 is prob the biggest id eva wana get

lol how exactly am I an idiot? I eat 200 g of protein a day 215 g of carbs, and 40 g of fat, becaus I want to be in top shape for cross county. Atm idc about bodybuilding, but I'm trying to maintain as much muscle mass as possible which is probably actually hindering my times. In what way am I a hypocrite?

I called out the situation and said he had a definite eating disorder and when I said that all the women come out of the woodwork and starting gettin all bitchy like I was insulting him. I was only being realistic.

That's a totally different situation, and from my progress pics you can easily see that I've gained muscle and loss fat. I'm lean, but I deff have plenty of muscle

Maybe not as much as someone who weighs 180, but that'll come with time. I've been known to binge eat IE I was 205 lbs so I have to track my fitday etc so that I make sure I eat enough and the right foods. I still eat good food too, had a half a box of nilla wafers before my race today hahaha

For me it was because I was fat for most of my life so when I got skinny I wanted to go all the way and get that six pack, but already weighing so little I realized I'd have to eat like 1500 calories a day which is too little. I've snapped out of it now though and I'm bulking.

You'll probably just have to get over the fact that you are genetically prone to abdominal fat gain. I am. I no longer care. And also, abdominal fat is usually the last to go on a cut, so unless you plan to cut to double digits, don't count on losing all the belly fat. Just accept yourself the way you are and be healthy.

i did the whole former fatty cutting and wanting to finally be ripped. Ripped i was at 150lbs but i regret it to this day. So much wasted time and energy to achieve something that made no difference. If i had invested my efforts towards getting stronger, id be miles ahead where I am now.

I was 353lbs, got down to 183. I attend medical school where I met my girlfriend. I work full-time as well as attend school, which is something you can't even legally do. I also have just broke the 1200lbs club, so I obviously don't lift.

Right now, I am better than you in every way. You haven't even graduated high-school or even old enough to vote, smoke, drink, and just started to be able to attend R rated movies.

xxbooster, do you really maintance with 2000 cals? i mean, i quited from starvation diet when i ate 500cals a day, i bumpted my calories intake to 2000, at first week i gained 8lbs, but now(its the 3th-4th week), i have not gained any with 2000 calories, and i just 5"11" and my weight is 133lbs(yes i was damn 123 and i have more alot to gain thats why i bumped it more).

It really depends for me about what I maintain at, but everyone maintains at different things, I eat when my bodies hungry except for pwo/PWO where I eat to get as many carbs in my system as possible. I can post my fitday for you after i'm done today if ya want lol

The point being is why would you waste your prime years for building muscle to lean out? I don't see a point to cutting to the single digits unless you plan on competing. You're lean enough, so keep building muscle. All that will accomplish is hindering your overall gains by cutting down when it's not necessary. Do as you wish.


Some people don't want to have huge muscles...I'm personally not after the meathead look. If your trying to impress the guys, then by all means bulk up.

I was 353lbs, got down to 183. I attend medical school where I met my girlfriend. I work full-time as well as attend school, which is something you can't even legally do. I also have just broke the 1200lbs club, so I obviously don't lift.

I mean, I attended medical school and I didn't like it and I went for something else. I guess this is a bad time to mention that I might wrestle 125 this year (serious). It kinda depends on what weight everyone else cuts to (the kids around my weight are all a little better than me). I'm kinda praying that someone ends up not making their ideal weight class and I can go 135 or something. My team is ranked #1 in our league and is predicted to win Prep New Englands. There is no way in hell I would wanna be on JV for a season like that.

Anywho, I know it isn't funny, but I am amused by the number of ED's caused by the nutrition section. Yeah, I know ED's are serious, but I just find it ironic.

Hmmmmmmmm

I guess this is a bad time to mention that I might wrestle 125 this year (serious). It kinda depends on what weight everyone else cuts to (the kids around my weight are all a little better than me). I'm kinda praying that someone ends up not making their ideal weight class and I can go 135 or something. My team is ranked #1 in our league and is predicted to win Prep New Englands. There is no way in hell I would wanna be on JV for a season like that.

Anywho, I know it isn't funny, but I am amused by the number of ED's caused by the nutrition section. Yeah, I know ED's are serious, but I just find it ironic.


You're doing it for a sport that's different, i had a good friend who walked around at 160 and wrestled at 119 so he could be a state champ....tough stuff.

Honestly, in real life when I get really angry, I just get quiet... I avoid human interaction at all costs, cause one thing will set me off.

On here, I'm rarely angry.

I never do anything to females... I was just talking about getting angry. I try to avoid people when I get angry so my mood doesn't effect others.

Even if you are in a medical school, if you desplay the current knowlage that you have now about nutrition, you're bound to fail. Of course, I'm sure you're lying about med school, just like everything else.

Why? Because you have no proof of ANYTHING! No pics, no info proving you are a med student, no stats, no anything! You too embarised to post a pic? Or are your drugs making you unable to post them? Oh, it might be that you have bulked so hard that you're too fat to raise your arms up to take a pic? Or you're so anorexic that you don't have the energy?

Whatever your problem is, please kill yourself as soon as possible. If you do IRL, and I hear about it in the news, I will be happy. Please, before you post any MORE bad info and screw other people up.

I was 6'2 by the time I was 12 years old.

I think I broke the 100lb mark in 3rd grade. The second tallest kid in my class came up to my chest :(
