Is anyone else enjoy oats perhaps a little more than they should?

I eat 1/2c oats at 5AM, and another 1/2c after work at 1PM. I find myself wanting to eat more throughout the day, but I always hold back. Oats are probably the cheapest complex carb I can think of, but I try to vary it with brown rice and other whole grains.

Do I need help?

1 cup of oats a day is nothing. Oats are great for you, eat as much as you want.

Yes.

And here it is: when your body tells you to eat more oats. EAT MORE OATS. I eat probably 3 cups a day in addition to brown rice, whole wheat bread, and whole grain pasta. NOM.

I eat around 3 cups a day as well. I usually have one cup per serving and usually use them for my odd numbered meals. I eat around 5-6 times a day and they are cheap, quick and easy. Moar oats!

Oats actually tops my list now, after peanut butter. It used to be the other way around..

Just LOVE oats!!

Apart from breakfast, when would you say the best time for oats is?

After workout when you need some good carbs and protein? Could I eat chicken breast and a cup of oats for instance instead of chicken breast and potatoes or whatever? As long as I'm getting the carbs it's the same thing right?

i have 200g (2 cups) a day.

Glad I am not the only one. Thought I had a problem, everyone I know thinks they are disgusting.

Anyone else like adding a scoop of whey as well?

I Love oats but i haven't eaten them for a few months. They started to mess with my stomach and send me to the ****ter:(

Oats are good stuff, I have 1 & 1/2 cup for breakfast, 1 cup post workout and usually another cup later on in the day if I don't have rice or something.

I love my breakfast. Nothing can top the feeling of warm oatmeal with milk and chunks of apples in the morning.
I do have a favorite that tops oats however.......Sweet Potatoes!

I agree 100%. Slice some Sweet Taters and fry them in some olive oil...Can't beat it. Oats are right there also.

That would be fiber. Oats are ruf***e. I was hitting the toilet so much when I integrated them into my diet.

I have 1 cup of oats with my breakfast and on lifting days, 1 cup for my pre-workout carbs. I could be satisfied if all of my carbs come from oats, but I do like a little variety :)

i loooove oats. I eat like 5 cups a day right now. They make up almost all of my carbs. I mix some cinnamin in there and there really good. plus cheap


I am actually eating a cup right now lol

Love them oats man... hot or cold, whey/oats, whey/PB?oats, anything really... awesome food and can't beat how good they are for you

Gotta eat oats. My fav method is to make my own museli like creation. Add nuts, organic dried fruit, fresh fruit, and whey. Just a friggin perfect meal!
