which is a better pre workout meal (like an hour before)? tuna and rice or protein shake and apple?

If u can handle it, tuna and rice simply because rice carbs > apple carbs for exercises, as rice carbs fuel muscle not liver glycogen.

Tuna is obviously more nutritious than protein shake, but does have lower BV, not that really matters

I should say though, that if ur eating properly, it won't really matter as much because as far as gym energy goes, your muscles will have enough glycogen to last through the workout.

Then the difference between rice and apple as carbs will be that you will have more insulin secretion occurring with rice (good in terms of being anabolic, but it does apparently lower GH release during exercise)

Just remember, your "preworkout" meal is really your postworkout meal for you body. It takes a while for that stuff to get out of your stomach and into your blood.
