I agree. Losing the 2004 ALCS is the biggest choke ever in professional sports.

Leave it to a Yankee fan to bring up the distant past in every thread. I think from now on when anyone talks about their basketball team being good Im just going to post 16 pictures of each Celtic banner and act like I was their to witness them all.

I'm a huge ass Yankee fan and I hate when others do that ****.

I'm also wondering why he used RedSoxTrophy.jpg instead of trying to find something else.

Strange rule you made there.

So you can't partake in your teams distinguished history if you were not alive then?

And th OP brought up 2004, according to you, what is the rule for how far back one can go when referencing their championships? 4 years? 5 years? 8 years?

I don't know, though - it seems Yankees fans are notorious for this. I'll be having a discussion about baseball and someone will mention something about how the Red Sox have won two World Series in the past few years or how good some team is looking and every Yankees fan I know will be like, "Well, yea....you still don't have twenty World Series trophies."

Obviously, we all know that the Yankees have every other team dominated in terms of the amount of hardware they have and that they may arguably be the best franchise in all of sports but still, it seems redundant and unnecessary.

Oh, and no Yankees hate - I'm a Mets fan first and an "anything New York fan" second.

No I dont think of it like that at all. Its just when ever theres a discussion about another baseball team being good or about the Yankees choking the same thing is brought up every time(their 26 championships). You dont see Celtics fans or Montreal Canadiens fans bringing up how theyve dominated the sport every time a hockey or basketball discussion takes place. Its all about the present and right now the Red Sox are World Champions not the Yankees.
