Hi All,
I'm getting back into fitness and new to monitoring calorie intake. I am 5'9" and weigh 167 with about 18% body fat. My main goal is to build muscle and I'm a bit confused with what my calorie intake should be and breakdown of protein/carbs/fats. I signed up for Men's Health trainer to track meals and workouts easily as this seemed like the only site to do such. I am a bit confused on their calorie suggestions though. To maintain weight, it suggests 2500 calorie diets with 24%protein, 38% each carbs and fat. To gain it suggests 20% protein and 40% each carbs and fat. From my limited knowledge, it seems the protein intake is quite low on both. Can someone provide their recommendations for me? Is there a better software or website to help me track my goals?
I appreciate any help. FYI - I plan on 6 meals/day with 2 of them being ON Whey Gold Meal. I thought 6th would be cottage cheese right before bed to get casein protein while sleeping. I am also taking Gaspari SizeOn once/day.
