I am facinated with timed efforts in push ups, pull ups, or even cardio laps. Anybody else measure progress on the clock? If so, what's your stats.
My push ups are 255 for 30 minutes. Next goal is 300. I know some can do 500 in 25 minutes. This suff that makes working out fun and challenging.

about 2 years ago i was doing 10 sets of 70 pushups. i didn't time it, but i doubt it took more than half an hour...

a poster here, timberwolf, was talking about pursuing the world record for pullups in an hour....i wonder if it is still in the plans.

My new cardio is 3 miles with .09 of the 3 all uphill big time. In 35 minutes....for me that is good...considering it was 60 minutes in the beginning.

Abit of tendonitis slowed me down. I was able to do 300 in 26:28 neutral grip.
Now would that be considered chin or pullup?
The record for pulllups is 644 but for chins in the 800's I believe.

Good luck with that, man.

Recently I've also been experimenting with crossfit WOD on my conditioning and cardio days.
I did 30 muscleups earlier this week in 4:12.

what are WOD's???

and muscle ups??? when i was younger, i used to do muscle ups from rings. from a dead hang, you'd pull yourself up above the rings. same thing?

WOD is the workout of the day, I believe.

Yep. Same thing. Though I used the chinup bar.

Before I get back to compound lifts and incline bench training. I've been doing light weight high rep training to shock the muscles. I'm shooting from the hip and playing it by ear. I missed my last 2 PR attemps at 225 lbs on the inclines. So maybe I did'nt want to strike out...I love all these cliche's.

Timberwolf I checked out your videos on youtube today, your a beast.I liked those clapping pull ups.I've gotta work on those for the challenge.
As far as keeping time time of my reps, not really anymore. The last time I really did that was a couple of years ago.I had an inmate that would do 1000 push ups in 30 minutes. So I tried that a few times when I cutting instead of bench work. It's a hell of a pump.

Hitting pushups for 30 minutes was my change up on chest and tri exercises. My goal of 300 was achieved and the key is time management. And of course a little bit of elbow grease. What's in a PR? Testing one's ability with measurable progress. The endorphins of ephoria flow when you've bested your best to date. This means it's back to the weight room to lift and train on a new routine. I'm switching to the Smith machine for incline press and squats, claf raises. Hitting 225 lbs on inclines is still my next goal. Also weighing in at 190 and 15% BF by end of Summer. Current weight is 186.4 and 12mm skin measurement on hip. Aprox 17-18% BF.
