Yep it happened today at 5:52 PM PST. The nice thing is I can say that I am now heathier than when I turned 30, I have a nice house and not an apartment, my friends are fewer but of higher quality.........All in all today is a good day :)

Happy birthday. Those that I admire and look up to due to their success in life all say the fourties were the defining decade for them. Mine are shaping up to be just that. Like you said, house, kids, friends I like, wife I like better. Loving the fourties thus far. Turning thirty was more difficult. I embraced fourty. Welcome to the club!

One year behind you and I am just getting warmed up. I have so much going on in the next three months it could fill a year or two in my early thirties. I hit 39 and like you feel better than when I was 29. Though that was the year I got my first real job in my field, moved to my wife's home town, and left my family behind so perhaps the stress level was high. Take care and hope this decade is all that you dream it to be. Good luck.

Happy Birthday!!! Mine was Saturday, and my wife couldn't believe how well I took it. She feels that everyone should have a total meltdown when they turn 40. She couldn't understand when I told her that I feel better now than 5 or 10 years ago!!:)

I tried to show her a couple of guys on here that didn't do their first competition until after 40, but she would have no part of it!!LOL

Life begins now as far as I'm concerned!! I own my house and cars outright, so now I can build my "gym"!!! Even thinking about trying my hand at competing in a couple of years!

Again, Happy Birthday and remember, the fun starts now!!

I sailed right through 30 and 40 with no problem though.
I too am in the best shape of my life "even my martial arts years"
and am financially and mentally/emotionally in the best place I have ever been in.

I am almost there myself. But the way I am looking at it is this:

When you are in your 20's if you are in really good shape then its just part of the course. When you are in your 30's you have to work at it a bit harder. But when you are in your 40's you really have to want it to stay in shape.

When I see someone in their 20's in really good shape I think "Cool." When I see someone in their 40's that is still in great shape (men or women) I think... "Damn!!!"

Well...

Happy Birthday to you.

I'm living proof (I know I'm not the only one here) that there is much life and Bodybuilding past 60....now if I can just keep up my workout pace to 61 (next month) I'll be happy camping.

A gruelling workout to you this night!

Hope all are doing well.

To me, someone in their twenties is really young. To someone in their eighties, people in their forties are really young. So I figure I just as well feel and act young because compared to a lot of the population I am young.

Besides, the older you get I think it is easier to look good in comparison to others your age, because most people seem to just keep getting in worse shape as they age.
