View Full Version : Upper Body Workout Sitting Down

Anyone have any ideas which type of exercises I can do for upper body but in a sitting position for the time being? I normally use a lot of cables, but standing up is uncomfortable at the mo, so I will need to sit down this week.

Seated military press, Bench Press, JM Press, Seated cable rows, etc.

Belle to the above you could also add:

Seated shrugs
Side dumbbell lateral raises
seated dumbbell lateral raises (bend forward, working the back of the shoulder)
Seated front raises
Seated side crunches
Pec machine for chest
incline dumbbell curls
seated tricep extensions

Gonna try some of these out later. My knee is much better than it was at this time yesterday, so I'm going to go anyway and see what I can and can't do upper body wise and formulate something from there using these suggestions above. I feel a lot better for just not using the knee as much the last few days and using a crutch. Maybe better with a brace actually. I see a specialist tomorrow who works at Sport Manawatu and they seem the best people to be in touch with actually. They must have a Doctor based there that specialises in sports injuries and the Doctor I saw on Saturday referred me to them which sounds good.

Lat pull
Preacher Curl (machine)
Dumbbell Press, laterals seated or machine)
Seated Tricep Extension (1 or 2 arm)
