Anyone get good gym stuff for Christmas

Santa came through for me this year in a big way

My stocking had all protien bars and 5lb container of whey, some dried squid snack treats (the protien count is off the charts) and various supps that I have been hintning at.

Plus under the tree I got a new mixer for my shakes.

I guess santa is finally hip to my new healthy lifestyle.

I did get some Kona coffee for Christmas. Does that count as a fat burner? LOL

As I listen to music while working out and that I am a classical music nut, I got a 155 cd set of the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach. That should keep me in "new" music for several years. Does that count?

As Christmas is one of the lesser known Buddhist holidays I wasn't expecting much but I got some new workout pants, a pack of nice sport socks and lots of protein bars.

I had no idea about the dry squid, Thai's eat that like candy. I'll have to load up next time we go to the Asian market.

My son has a bag in the house right now. He brought a few bags home froma trip to Japan 2yrs ago. His best friend is Japanese and his mother is Flight Attendant for Delta. She's brings my son back some "squid jerky" every time she does a trip there (she went today, in fact). The stuff DOES stink pretty bad, but it's not so bad to eat.

Anyway, one son bought me a pair of lifting gloves/wrist straps. It was a pleasant surprise. Santa brought a Century Bob w/groin, too.

Never do and never have. A friend who Momma Snake just hates gave me a book on cancer recovery. Youngest daughter a USC hat/T shirt to wear on New Years...that's it. I gave checks to teen age grand kids and toys to teenie grand kids.

    Glad that's over.

Plus under the tree I got a new mixer for my shakes.

I guess santa is finally hip to my new healthy lifestyle.
I worked with japanese guy who carried a 5 pound bag of the squid jerky with him for snacks. I tried it once and thought I was gonna hurl. What is it with the Japanese and their stinking food. I work in a Japanese plant and whenever the Japanese guys go home, they always bring back stuff for us to try. Those guys will put a dried up fish in anything.

No gym equipment per say, but my wife did buy me a copy of Starting Strength! I couldn't believe she even found it, let alone knew I might be interested in reading it. (Don't think I ever mentioned it to her).

Either way, at first glance, it's stated to be a "beginners" book, but I am loving the read already.

Aside from the most unexpected and very sweet computer system an ex sent me - I also got a nice digital camera, and many other nice, small gifts such as a lovely scented candle and an electronic sudoku game.

Well, Athena hit Santa pay-dirt this year:

I went to GNC to place my monthly order (~$300 in Beverly supps) and mentioned to the owner that my boyfriend would probably be trying to pay for my next order, or put a credit in the system for me or something. I told him the answer was "no" -- for my own reasons, which we shall not get into here. The owner, whom I've known for 8 years, looked like he was going to throw up and just kind of whimpered, at which point I realized that the new boyfriend had beaten me to the punch. This was Santa gift #1.

The manager at the gym is offering me an excellent deal on personal trainer sessions since I've found one that is actually good -- really!! -- and since I'll be competing under the gym's name. It's a deal that's too good to pass up, and comes to around $500. Guess what Santa gift #2 was? Yup. The new boy had arranged up front with the manager that if I were to go for the training sessions, it should be put on his card.

No, he does not have any unmarried brothers. No, I will not share him.

I got a bottle of Tequilla and a box of brazil nuts covered in milk chocolate. I'm obviously not getting the message across.
