sorry not paying attention. Smith bars range from 20-40 lbs. that one looks like its around 30 but I can't tell from the pic. How much does it feel like it weighs? compareholding it to holding say a 35 or 25 etc. weight, then compare.

that's not the way smith's work. They are usually between 20-40 even when olympic and only the high quality one's have 35+ so this one is probably 25-30 lbs.

1. You really expect a legitimate answer based on guesses from looking at a picture?
2. What difference does it make? Would you buy or not buy it based on the bar weight?

You've obviously spent very little time reading through this forum if you believe that.

I wasn't saying my answer was legit I just said that was my best guessbased on the quality of the machine. I don't know why it would make a difference ti shouldn't matter what it weighs except for gauging how much weight you're putting on it.

smith rack bar weight is going to vary substantially. Some smith racks are even counterbalanced.
If you're using a smith rack, the exact weight you are using is pretty irrelevant. Since the bar weight won't change, just track the weight you add to the bar for your training progression.
or just "pretend" like it's 45 lbs, and then make sure that you count it as 45 anytime you write down your weights used in your lifting notebook.

i have it, and im tryin to figure out how much to tack onto what im lifting. 150+35=185. this thought only occured to me a few weeks ago that i was lifting the bar too, but then i just continued on writing in my log the weight i was lifting without the bar...so now its still naggin me and i wanna know =/ or the closest guess....whatever
edit: btw, pretty much all it is is a straight bar all the way across (2 screwed together)..its pretty cheap quality i think. and i read somewhere that cheap quality weighs less, so im guessin its 30 at max :/ so

Since you already have it, just get a scale and get on it while holding the bar.

Cant you call the manufacturer and demand it from them, rather than asking us?! You`ll get a better answer since they make the equipment and they know the specs on their equipment
