Cardio makes me sore!
Hi, as many of you know, I am not a noob....But I'm running into some problems..
Since 2 weeks I've been cutting, but the cardio I do (pretty intensive) makes me so ****ing sore when I start doing any leg work / cardio (again).
Eating 200 gr of protein a day, so I don't think it's that...
Carbs are pretty low though.
so.... anyone experienced this and... solved it (because that's what it's realy about guys...)
thanks....

Yeah, actually, in the past week I've been applying some cutting principles to my diet trying to shed a pound or two -- and I found I had to tone down my workouts because I was getting so damn sore from my usual routine. It's really easy to overwork yourself when you cut. As soon as I started eating more I start making solid gains again. I'm thinking you're just going to have to deal with being sore for now if your bent on cutting -- your body will adapt eventually.
Maybe taking in more carbs would reduce soreness, just avoid taking them in with protein to avoid the massive insulin spike. In the morning maybe, take in a big carb meal with some fats to slow the digestion and provide you with energy for the day.

You just have to work through it until your body gets used to having to burn calories again (I'm assuming you're coming out of a bulk?) and use your legs for it. I went through it for almost a month when I decided to try and get in shape for once over a year ago, because I kept doing legs the day after cardio like my schedule told me to... My legs finally dealt with it and I was fine thereafter.

okay... yes imagine that 4 times a week, and still having to work out legs.

try working through it! like many others have said, your body will adapt. If the pain continues for to much longer try a different form of cardio.

high intensity cardio on a regular basis will overtrain you.
200 grams of protein a day is not much.
carbs dont have anythign to do with recovery.
you dont have enough of a fitness basis to do regular cardio and not have it affect your lifting.
do higher intensity cardio 2x a week for 20 minutes. And walk 45 minutes everyday. slowly add in more high intensity cardio sessions.
most of the advice you got from these people was bad. and theres no way your legs are gonna just "deal" with something. Your likely goign to lose muscle if you keep going. lots...

realize that having protein with carbs decreases the insulin spike...

I had this problem when I first started really running for baseball a few summers ago. I too cut my carbs real low, about 60-100 a day. If you're going to just run, your legs will get use to it within the next week or two. Leg workouts take a little longer. My solution was to drink/eat plenty of anti-oxidant heavy foods after running. I would also reccomend stretching before and after you run. Also, stretch again before you go to sleep. This seemed to help me, hope it helps you too.

Perhaps do different types of cardio such as rowing instead of running.

1) "overtraining" is overrated Ive been doing high intensity cardio almost daily since I was four, so what your pretty much telling me is that I have been "overtraining" since I had the proper motor skills to run, and jump...Im perfectly fine... Read up about the CNS buddy
2) If you weigh 105 pounds like I do 200 grams of protein is plenty

this happens to me every time I strat lifting again, after a week off or so. I am completely sore all over. The next week it get a little better, the nxt a little better and soon. Same thing happens when I start running again. You should be okay in the next couple of weeks.
