So my aunt just randomly bought me some MetRX chocolate protein. So i tried it a couple days ago and it is like drinking sand, maybe worse cause it has this horrid chocolate taste. It brough back supressed memories of when i was a freshman and used to drink vanilla MetRX protein (at the time diidnt know any better and thought all protein tasted like sand and ass)
Also when you mix it, it doesnt dissolve into the water, milk, it makes like paste so its like drinking frosting or something, which leads me to believe that in fact it DOES have sand in it
VERY horrible experience
How can they makes such BAD protein, i mean jesus christ

Never tried the powder form of Met-Rx protein, but I tried the chocolate RTD once. Couldn't even finish the first can. I put one in the fridge over night, and tried it nice and cold. Tasted like cold shyt. My wife couldn't drink it either.
On the other hand, I snack down 2 or 3 Met-Rx protein bars a week, and I LOVE them. When I go climbing I have 2 a day. I always keep a peanut butter one in the glove box of my jeep for spare protein (peanut butter ones don't melt like the chocolate ones). When the opportunity has arrived,
The time for preparation has past.

MetRX is one of the worse protein tasting products in today's supplement market. I have tried several whey proteins and Optimum Nutrition is what gets me going throughout the day. I only stick with the chocolate because it tastes good with water or milk. It has a great amount of protein per serving plus it is pretty affordable for mostly every lifter.
It also has several great amounts of amino acids like L-glutamate and so much more. The only problem that I have with today's protein product is that the MRP. The protein to carb ratio is wrong. In order to replace most of the nutrients lost in a workout, the MRP should consist a 2:1 Carb to protein ratio. A nice post workout meal with be about 1-1.5 scoops of Whey Protein Gold Standard from ON in water(since it digests in your body in the quickest time) with 3 bananas and 5 grams of L-Glutamine. Just put only 4-7 ounces of water. After that, about 15 minutes before I go to sleep, I'll drink ON 100% Casein Protein with 12oz of 1 or 2 percent milk to give me that nice slow digestion.
What I usually do is take in most of my solid meals in the mornings and afternoons and early evening. After my workout is when I usually take in most of my whey protein supplements. The slow, digestive proteins work better in the day and immediately before going to sleep while the fast, acting whey protein isolates work better just before and after a workout. This is how I balance my usual diet throughout my training.Last edited by xshinx; 12-18-2006 at 01:59 PM.

Agreed!
Did you try the new Strawberry in the Ultramyosyn Whey? I like the strawberry.
Did you try the new Ultramyosyn Whey in strawberry? It's one of the better ones I tried in that flavor...
Good to hear!
And what is your reasoning behind that statement? If you're going to make such an off the wall statement at least explain yourself.Matt Weik, BS, CSCS, CPT, CSN

Once again, I state that you are in the red, and no one really values your opinion. You have no value to back up anything you are saying. And the way you state your opinion needs to be toned down a bit. There is a difference between stating your opinion and being insulting.
If you would have looked at the bottom in my sig it states I am a MET-Rx rep. Enough said...Matt Weik, BS, CSCS, CPT, CSN
