    first fitness comp..

    I'm looking for some advice on a first figure show. I've heard that doing some bulking workouts for about 6 weeks before starting dieting could help...any ideas on that??? I'm 125 w/ around 17% bf and want to compete at around 115-118 and 11%bf.

    I generally cycle between bulking and cutting diets, but if you want to lose bodyfat, I think bulking for 6 weeks may not be the best idea. It depends on how much time you have until your competition, how much you need to bulk, and how fast you can lose fat. In all honesty, it works a lot better to run a cutting diet into a short bulking cycle. I'll actually be explaining this in my next article as it's what I am doing now.

    Hi buildergrl,

    I'm trying to do the same thing as you but I need to lose a couple more pounds extra. How long until the competition and what competition is it?
