Exclamation stupid question but will ask anyways...

From reading the threads, the consensus seems to be that you can't simulatenoulsy loose body fat and gain lean body muscle at the same time..if that's the case..which one should you do first? I am 28 years old, weigh 127lbs, 22% body fat, have maintence level calories of 2100, eat 6 meals a day with an average caloric daily intake of 1700...i hae some excess body fat in the tummy area...should i try to lose body fat first or gain lean muscle first? In either case, how much calories should i be consuming...i know if i want to lose body fat, i should eat roughly maintenance level - 300 calories (in my case 1800)..what about for gaining lean muscle mass..how much should i be eating...more than my maintence level? thank you

What's your goal? What's your priority? Fat loss? Weight loss? Appearance?

Have you previously been working out? if so, lifting heavy, or just cardio, or what?

More information, please, then we can more easily answer your question of which comes first, chicken or egg.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me.
