I personally consider it an artificial sweetener just as aspartame and others. The only "true natural" sweetener I know of is Stevia.

With that said, as much as I try to stay away from artificial sweetener I do cave and consume some...I have a terrible sweet tooth

There is too much controversy surrounding splenda. Until there is something definitive, I take the high road and stay away from it.

No, I don't like using any artificial sweeteners... especially aspartame. Did you know that during WWII the Americans made aspartame as a weapon against the enemy to make them more stupid? Hmm, I don't think I'd want to take that. Also, there have been studies that have shown that eating artificial sweeteners actually cause you to crave sugar even more.

For the most part I don't use sweetners. On occassion I may add a bit of Raw Agave in herbal tea, everything else I don't sweeten.

Splenda makes me gassy to extreme levels and Stevia has a weird taste I can't quite tolerate.

Ever hear of Lo Han? It's a chinese fruit that they make a natural, calorie-free sweetener from (SlimSweet by TriMedica is the brand I use, available at health food stores). I highly reccomend it!
