    Elliptical guys...question..

When doing the elliptical for cardio....what "level" do you guys use? As of now...ive been doing a level "15" @ 6.5-7mph for 30mins.

I dont use the arm attachments (mainly cuz im too uncoordinated..lol) but not sure if im doing too much resistence or speed. it gets my heart rate good though.

    Any suggestions?

(anything less that 10-12 levels is just too easy)

I keep mine around level 7 and the RPM's around 5.0. I usually do 20 minutes before my workout and 30 minutes on off days.

The point of my first post was threefold:
    1. All elliptical machines are different. Level 10 on one machine may be equivalent to level 27 on another machine. Even on the same make and model there can still be a difference in intensity on the same level.
    2. Spinal tap is a good movie, one of the best mockumentaries ever made.
    3. The actual level doesn't matter. It's how intense the cardio is for you that matters over the duration. The other important aspect is that cardio needs to be progressive. This means that in order to make your body adapt, you need to work at increasing the intensity (level) and/or duration of your cardio.

ok gotcha. i havent seen that movie in YEARS....lol i was half asleep when i posted this morning.

yeah...ive been increasing the "levels" over time. I was more curious if as to the speed really. Ive read some people say for fat burning to go at a slower speed. then on the other hand you have the HIIT stuff.

Trying to make sure im not burning off the muscle im trying to build instead of fat.
