"Hip Hop Is Dead" is alright. I hope that's not the best joint on the album though.

another reason why nas > jay...nas' new single is about the state of hip hop right now with a low budget video while jay's new song is tired as hell with 2 paid 'celebrities' making guest appearances.
"They're not going to put cameras on street corners. They're going to give you Twitter & cameras on your phone. Who's going to police the people? The people are! They figured it out. They're going to give you toys to play with & they're going to play with their f**king toys & they're going to get so deep-rooted into our culture that you're not going to be able to live without it." ~ DJ Muggs

Interesting enough, Nas said this album is going to be better than Illmatic... If that's the case, I might have to get it.

You're a pretty big guy, I never noticed that before.....
Anyways, I dunno about this album, let's not fck with ourselves here, nas is hardly the most consistant rapper in the world, and I was less than impressed with his last two albums. God's son had it's moments, streets disciple was wow strong filler, and he just let me down with nastradamus and I am. But I've counted him out before and he smacked me in the face with stillmatic. I hope it's good but I wouldn't bet the car on it.Aussies Pwn All Crew Oz Enhanced • *ShaGGs* • Fiky • Wylde • Pro Lee Priest • Nesa • TheDeepBlue • mikeccccc • ryan_james • ajzoot • irongrasshopper • RockyVI • Pro Luke Wood • Goofxta • Milimber • dts1789 • thickmass • Benji Snap • G_Train • mickey_b08 • no limits

why does he use the same loop in two single... thiefs theme and hip hop is dead is pretty much exactly the same beat.
even though the new one is much better lyrically and i guess the beat does sound better too. but still. thats like puff daddy using the beat from mo money mo problems for another new single.█♣█ █♣█ █♣█ █♣█ █♣█

Yeah the track listing looks very disapointing.

Illmatic is a classic and one of the best albums of all time because of Nas killing it lyrically, mainly solo, with the whole album having a distinct and similar sound to the beats which flowed together nicely.
This album looks to be the opposite. **** loads of guest appearances and different producers. It's has the potential to be good. No chance of being great.
