Sleep Troubles.....
I'm having trouble sleeping lately and was wondering if anyone has tried Melatonin. I went to www.melatonin.com which is obviously bias. Anyone have experience with it? Possible alternatives?

Here are your alternatives;
Eat lots of turkey at bed time
Take ZMA
Take GABA(not recommended)
Smoke some mary J (my fav)
Drink a glass of wine (another fav)
Find a good sleeping pill (ambien works best for me)

I took melatonin but it's not good to take constantly. I take valerian now and again but the effects wear off if you take it too often. ZMA has been the best so far for me...

I wouldn't recommend a "sleeping pill" -- if you can, try natural remedies first. True sleeping pills should be a last resort.

I just bought some ZMA. I'll let you know if it works for me. I wouldn't mind the other benefits people claim from ZMA (i.e. strength) either.
Thanks for all the comments.
Any further infomation is still appreciated.

dont take any sleeping pills to help u sleep first off lay off the cokes and the Mountain dew and the sugar so it wont keep u up at night, u dont need to be drinking that poison anyway. and get some exerisice so when u have a long day u will be tired and go right to sleep.

Sorry, "cokes and the Mountain dew and the sugar" didn't make into the training diet and supplementation list this time around. Closest I get to caffine and sugar is green tea and splenda. I have always had trouble sleeping and high intensity workouts have only made it worse. Thanks for the advice though.

ive tried tons of things(nvr any prescription aids tho, dont want to mess with that ish)
For getting to sleep nothing was better then some otc stuff i got at CVS. Sleep aid or something like that. Didnt get addicted and helped me get my sleep schedule back on track.(tried melatonin, didnt work well)
If u just want deep sleep, Powerfull and e-bol both gave me deep sleep and good dreams. (ZMA was ok, not quite as great as those tho)

Update
So I took ZMA for the first time last night. I fell asleep like two hours later. Thus, it did not knock me out or anything.
However, I must have went into a deep sleep as I only slept 7 hours and woke up feeling very refreshed: especially mentally. For the first time in a long time I did not wake up tired.
I'll post another update after a day or two with any more comments.
How ironic that we must workout, eat, train and schedule properly so that we are able to get to sleep but if you can't get a good nights sleep you can barely do all those other things.

I would reccoment Natrol Sleep n Restore. You can buy here on bb.com and it works great. Not only does it put you to sleep but it clears free radicals so you wake up feeling more rested.

i just finished a bottle of my ZMA nighttime power...it helped me gain about 7-8 pounds and ive noticed a strength gain too. But you might want to consider your sleep troubles due to possible over training? i was going through that **** in the summer and i got nooo rest. hope this helps

Melatonin (sublingual) is good for short periods or less than two weeks no matter what the label says about doing it up to 6 weeks. For some people there is still the possibility for dependence even though this is the exception and not the rule.

Another great night of rest. I'm convinced ZMA is helping with my more restful sleep. Thanks for all the advice!

I got the Vitamin Shoppe Brand. I compared it with the ON brand which I was told is a great product and they are almost identical. I have had experience with their brands and trust them.
I caught a cold however so I can not comment on any physical effects yet.
