well... could cause gastro problems or mucus problems if you are allergic to some of the milk proteins, but contrary to popular belief milk isn't really that high in calcium and find it hard to believe you could possibly O.D. on it through milk without first becoming full or very sick... many green vegetables have far more calcium than milk. I don't think the calcium milk is readily absorbed as much as from other food sources.

im not sure where to get a list of ld50 for calcium besides a science text book....but if you could find it in it you might find your answer as to the toxicology of it.

We must have the same news channel.
Hooley do you believe in santa claus?
Anyway I believe the problem with drinking too much milk is how well your body metabolizes lactose. Lactose is slow acting and you can easily get a lot of it in your system.

what u mean do i believe in santa clause, do you mean he's not real????????
i didn't mean to sound naive, simply that i've had a few people tell me on seperate occasions that one can overdose on calcium. albeit they are not experts themselves but nevertheless, it sounded questionable.
i drink around 100 ounces + (3 litres) a day of the stuff.

I don't know about overdosing but you definitely can have too much calcium. I don't remember the exact amount or effects right off the top of my head though and i'm far too lazy to pull out my biochemistry notes to find out.

yes, they result from oxalates or some such. I beleive milk is one source as well as anything with caffeine in it. That's why you should drink plenty of water throughout the day

Oh crap! Someone else finally says it besides me. Thank you sir. Common sense milk issue to the rescue.
Be careful, you're going to have the dairy crowd ready to kill you over the comment of veggies over milk.

I drink about 3 litres of milk a day. It's usually my drink of choice, except when I work out. When I'm in the gym I drink 4 or 5 bottles of water in the hour and a half I'm there. I haven't OD'd on milk yet but the thought of kidney stones scares me! My mom had one and she had 2 kids and can handle pain better then anyone I've ever seen and she was debilitated from them!
