Bad things seem to happen all at once! I still feel my legs a lot from mondays squat (10 x 10), I kind of jumped into it, and now I'm paying the price for it these last couple of days. But I need to play rugby this sunday, an important match, and as it is I can't run for sh*t! This is the first day I can walk again, without looking funny. And I have to play, the coach said so, so is there a way to get rid of the DOMS faster?

Are you sure its DOMS, and not just soreness? There is a huge difference.
And whats up with your username, is it supposed to be mocking Germans, like "Zee Freeeench."?

If its really DOMS, you need to change your routine, probably lower the weight or intensity, and stop nailing your CNS. Keeping flexible and loaded with enough water will help as well.

I've alreay been doing some active recovery and stretching, guess this sunday is going to hurt...a lot
And username isn't about germans, it isn't english. And the intensity wasn't really big, I was doing 10 sets of 10 reps on the squat, it was the volume that did it.Last edited by DeGermaan; 12-01-2006 at 05:36 PM.

The thing is, I didn't expect to play, because I missed every training this week, and because elderly woman were passing me by yesterday as I "walked" to the grocery store. But I just heard that I will be playing, so I need to fix this!

Dang... eat protein, get rest, and sleep as much as possible. Recovery is the only way to cure soreness.

Guess I've done eveything I can already, maybe going into a semi coma from now to sunday will do it. Only wake up for food and bathroom needs, and some active recovery and stretching, I'll see how that goes.

DOMS or Muscle Soreness
1000mg of Potassium Chloride and/or 400-800mg of Magnesium Citrate/Chelate and at least 60oz of water, do some stretches, should accelerate the soreness*dissipating. *

Bike for 10 minutes at a moderate pace after. You don't need to kill yourself like its cardio its just to keep blood circulating and flush out the acid buildup in your legs.
