What is the Best Workout to get you through the Holidays?

What is the best workout to get you through the holidays?

I think working out your weeknesses during the holidays is good to do. This way when you get back on track from your holiday confussion you'll be a little bit stronger in the areas you once lacked. I also think during the holidays you may not have as much time so you should limit your lifting to about 3 days a week. Or you can lift whenever you get the oppurtunity. I also like to do cardio during the holidays so when i get back on schedule i don't feel like I have gained 10 pounds of fat.

Do the holidays ever affect your workout regimen?

Yes. The holidays always affect my workout regimen because they limit the amount of time I have to work out and increase my time with food and family. This is why i try to work on other muscles to increase their strength to the ones of my dominate muscles.

Do you alter your diet because of any disturbance to your workout regimen?

Yes. Because of the holidays taking away my time at the gym i try to eat less faty foods high in fat and carbs. This way when I am away from the treadmill I'm not taking in to much fat. Some things you may want to stay away from are soda, buttery foods, high fat meats and once again carbs and fats.

Bonus Question: If you are away for the holidays and visiting family what can you do to keep the workouts going and still keep the family happy!

If you are away for the holidays I suggest running or jumping rope when ever you get a chance. If you are exposed to weights use them whenever possible. But only workout when you get the chance you don't want to upset the family!

What is the best workout to get you through the holidays? Be specific.

The best workout to get you through the holidays is basically what you have access to. I, personally have a gym that is open 24 hours a day, all year long so I could just go to the gym and do my regular routine. Someone who doesn't however can purchase dumbbells or a barbell and some weight along with a bench and get a very generic workout in, in minimal time. A jog or a bike ride may do wonders as well.

Do the holidays ever affect your workout regimen?

Me? No, I workout at a gym that never closes so I just go when I have the time which is usually early in the morning or late at night. I might actually do more to offset any overeating that I may have done.

Do you alter your diet because of any disturbance to your workout regimen?

No, I do not although if I had to I would eat a little less but eat more often. Holidays can actually be healthy if you eat the right thing. Turkey, eggs and veggie trays are among many things that can keep your diet in check. Sometimes if I eat what I think is too much then I just make up the difference with an extra half hour of cardio or some more intense weights.

Bonus Question: If you are away for the holidays and visiting family what can you do to keep the workouts going and still keep the family happy!

To keep family happy you must first know what the family wants. If the family understands it isn't going to be all day or if you spend time with them before you go they should fully understand and respect what you are doing. I suggest telling them you will be back in a certain amount of time and that you promise to do something with them when you get back.
