Like the thread says, wtf is the tingle that Beta Alanine causes?? What exactly is it doing to your body causing it to tingle?? I've searched but all I ever read is just that you get a tingle from it. Well, what is the damn tingle!! Why is it doing that?? I get the tingle and sometimes it feels all hot and itchy, kinda annoying. Anyone, anyone...

If you have taken slightly high doses of niacin or GABA before you probably know what I am talking about.
My take on it is this. Beta-Alanine binds to both the Glycine and GABA receptors in the brain. By doing so, it can block GABA uptake, and decrease Glutamatergic excitation. Glutamate is the most important excitatory transmitter in the brain and the NMDA receptor is a receptor for Glutamate. As the Glutamate site is often flooded, the diffusion of Beta-Alanine in the brain will augment the activation of the NMDA receptor increasing synaptic activity - And so, the paresthesia. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

I disagree.
First of all, the "tingle", which i wouldn't even describe as "tingle", is going to affect people to a different degree. 1 dose of PW gets me itchy as hell.
Secondly, IMO, 3-4g in one setting is not ideal."Ignorance is the most expensive commodity we pay for in this country."

Skip down about half the first page if you don't want to read about the product and get right into the science. If you have the time, thoroughly read through it as there is allot of very specific info in there as well as studies posted and much more....
