shoulders hurt in one arm db rows

it seems everytime I go into the lowering movement of the db in the one-arm db row exercise w/ heavy weight, i feel my shoulders are stretching out to a point where i feel a little pain, is this normal and how do i prevent this? should i lower it down slower next time, or more control, etc?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I LOVE BB.

IMO decrease the amount of weight you're using until you can handle it better. You may be doing too much too fast.

That's exactly what I was thinking as well. You may also want to avoid that specific exercise if it is the only one causing you problems and substitute something else. You may also want to have someone knowledgeable look at your form.
Often Lukamar your posts walk a fine line between sarcasm and humor, splashed with common sense and mastery of the obvious.

    yup

    What they said.
Form, decreased weight. See if the higher reps hurt? If you can do more reps you can assess the pain as movement related versus strain/weight related. If so decrease your weight until you don't have pain. Don't "man up" or you may have to man up post surgery with lots rehab in store. Pain is your body telling you something is wrong or your not doing it right. I did the "through the pain thing" and ended up out ofcommision for 6 weeks. 2 weeks of rest or "ease lifting" is a better break than starting from a six week hole.
