    Question Sauna, Steam room, Spa

My gym has all three: Sauna, steam room and spa.

What is the difference between the Sauna and Steam room? Except for the wood in the sauna...

Also, what do all three of them do?

    Many thanks,
    MM

    Smile

A sauna is dry very hot heat--kinda like being in the desert. You sweat a lot while you're in there. A steam room is moist heat--kinda like when you stand in a really hot shower and the bathroom fogs up. You'll sweat a lot in a steam room, too, but you don't notice it as much because the room is already really moist. Sitting in a steam room is good for opening up your head (sinuses) and relaxing your body--I've got friends who will do entire stretching routines in a steam room. I suppose you could do the same in a sauna, but the floor and benches tend to be a lot hotter in there--make sure you take a towel to sit on when you're in the sauna. I'm not sure what a 'spa' is, unless you're referring to something like a whirlpool or hot tub. If so, then it's probably similar to a steam room--wet heat on your body, and wonderful to sit and relax in. Any of these are good for sore muscles!

OK so you have never asked questions before. Ok.
Any questions you asked could have been answered on google...anything can. So I ignore your comment.
