I did deadlifts yesterday and all day today my back has felt like paper. I've been almost hunched over and I don't feel it in my legs at all. Is this normal or a form problem

could be a form problem. make sure u drive with the legs and while straightening the back. its very easy to let the back do too much work. also, make sure you're upper body is more upright than bent over. have you done much DLing before or was it the first time in a while? when i first started DLing again after being cleared by my chiro i was sore for a week

I'm new to deadlifting only done it for 4 weeks or so. My gym SUCKS so it has no official deadlift platform etc so I have to take a bar down lift it, put on 45s and then add the rest of my weight. Then I have to take it off etc (huge pain in the ass because the bar is rusty and the weights get stuck etc. I don't have a partner lifter sadly because no one else around here lifts except one kid who doesn't deadlift..I'm kind of alone out here..

I see your in Winchester. I live there too. Where do you workout at? I'm at Gold's. I've actually been quite surprised how many people I've see deadlifting. Not too many people going real heavy, but still more people then where i came from. I used to be the only one in the gym doing them, now I don't feel that out of place.

Use a 10lb plate to help you take the weights off. Just roll the bar onto it so the first 45 is raised up. Then you can get all of the others off easier. Do this for one side, and then just pick the empty side up so the bar is standing straight up and the remaining plates are on the ground. I can deload a bar loaded up to 405 like this in under a minute.
If you're really sore take a few days off from lifting because there is basically nothing that you can do that won't have an effect on your back. If it's still bothering you go see a chiropractor.
