    Question Universal SS1500 Smith Station

Anyone got any info on the universal SS1500 Smith Station? Is it a good machine? Does it have good results? Is it a waist of $1000? Thanx.

If you are looking at ANY smith machine, unless it is a linear bearing machine, walk away
    everything else I've tried sticks
I have the York Barbell linear smith machine in my house and it is awesome
So are the parabody, the NEW Bodysolid system 5 & 7, and the New York Barbell Linear Machines
Make sure you've spent time on a smith and like it and know HOW to set up under it for all the exercises
you'll get a lot of uneducated smith haters who think it's evil because they have no clue how to use it and sit around repeating all the bad press they've heard somewhere
truth is, more people have been hurt in power racks/squat racks then have ever been injured using a smith properly
athletes with knee and back problems use them all the time and sometimes exclusively
so if you like it, buy it and don't let the crybabys talk you out of it
but make sure YOU like it first and YOU know how to use it properly
    good luck

You'll get some educated smith haters too, ones that know how to use them properly, but dislike letting a machine stabilize the weight for you, unless there is a physical condition that indicates your inability to do it yourself.

yes, but educated smith haters hate it for other reasons, they don't make up crap about it being "inherently dangerous" and an "evil machine with no use"
They at least know it is a good machine, but choose not to use it. Not just spout crap they've read or heard someone say.

Why do you want a smith machine? Is there a particular reason? If not, you might want to consider something else, esp. for $1000. If you posted a link or pic, I could prob. help more, but 1k sounds like a lot for a smith. For that, you could get a VERY nice power rack and some weight.
