For some weird reason y, i just dont have that much respect for the guy. but however if he was natural, that would turn all around.

steroids were rampant even back then, i seem to remember reading about the germans experimenting with them in the early 1900's, i could be wrong though

well size is not a determining factor in steriod use, many people use steriods and are not massive. so that is not a accurate gauge to determine someone use or extent of use.

He claims to be natural and his look and measurements I can believe he is. That doesnt mean he is without a doubt, but I see it as very possible.
Steroid amount does not always equate to more muscle due to receptor capaicty and to a lesser extent the law of diminishing returns is quite high for steroid use. Unfortunatly it is hard to determine how much someone uses. Some people may get alot of side effects with a small dose with little size increase, others may get low sides from a high dose with decent size increase. Igf on the other is in a sense easier to determine. To much use and the abdomin can be excpected to have distention and in severe cases a person can being to look like Kovacs.

Natural. He was very lean and had good symmetry, aesthetics and was good looking enough to be a famous actor. Most of us don't hit the genetic jackpot like that

Sorry, it wasn't Reg Park. It was Larry Scott who talked about Steve Reeves introducing him to D-bol. So we have Kurt Marnul and Larry Scott who were both introduced to D-bol by "natural" Steve Reeves.
EDIT: Sergio has also gone on record saying Reeves used steroids. I don't think Reeves introduced them to him though.Last edited by Epihall; 11-17-2006 at 06:28 AM.

People on BODY****INGBUILDING.com need to growup about this steroids ****. Guess what High level BODYBUILDERS USE STEROIDS, its like getting mad at NBA players for being really tall.
Steroids really arent this magical wonder pill you people make them out to be, its not lik someone injects some test one day and ends up wit 24" arms and a chest the size of rwanda. Your capacity to train and eat is way above average, you still gotta train and eat way above average."I keep a bottle of testosterone sitting on a triple-layer bench shirt in the back of my gym, but I have yet to see it bench 5 pounds"

Exactly, pro bodybuilding is all about steroids. If it wasn't everyone would be interested in the natural shows. Ethics hardly matter, people want to see the best- drugs or not.

Don't some guys feel bad about breaking the law for using illegal drugs?
Not really just the pro's i guess but the guys on this board who use and don't plan on competing. Why? Your breaking the law right?
I guess people look at it as like marijuana use inside their own homes or going 10 mph over the speed limit LOL!
What do I know im just a bible thumber!

pics?
Bodybuilding is all about image not numbers, when you're up on stage your lifting stats and bodyfat % means nothing to the judges.

There is a huge difference with a basketball player being tall and a bodybuilding taking roids. Ones natural and the other isn't. You can get made at any athlete for taking steroids, regardless, but not there genetic code making them taller.

pick one up on the newstands, and look at the average contestants in the contest reports.....
then pick up any one of the major mags: MD, FLEX, and look at the contestant's pictures in those reports........
there you see the difference between taking them and not taking them......
I am not making a morality judgement here, please, don't misinterpret, just an objective observation....
they certainly are magic my man, and if you knew people PERSONALLY who went on and off them, and what they looked liked ON and what they looked like OFF, you would understand....
for those of us who are in the know, your statement is a little naive.....yes, I agree, there is still an awful lot of hard work to do....
which is why I respect the Pro's, and their work ethic, and enjoy following them and go to many of the live events......
but do not underestimate the "magic" of chemicals, really.......
and as for REEVES: whatever he took, couldn't have been too much: just look at him!
