Red face THE PURPLE-K PHENOMENON~FUSION NUTRITION~Prep for 10th Show~40 Weeks To Nationals!

Well...here goes...another chance at raising the bar higher yet!

A big thank-you to Chris and Adrian @ FUSION NUTRITION for giving me the opportiunity to be a test subject for their PURPLE-K~~THE KING OF CREATINE!

First I will provide you with some background info on the product, followed by background info on the subject, the diet, and the training.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Why is Purple-K the King of Creatine?
Purple-K is the King of Creatine because it contains patented Kre-Alkalyn. Kre-Alkalyn is the only creatine that does not convert to TOXIC creatinine before reaching your muscle. Regular creatine DEGRADES by 90%, leaving ONLY 10% usable product. Purple-K prevents this by letting you use 100% of the creatine you take.
This makes Purple-K 10 times more effective than regular creatine.

What is creatinine?
Creatinine ('kree-AT-ah-neen') is a TOXIC waste that is produced when regular creatine hits liquid. Creatinine is so TOXIC that your kidneys work overtime to protect you from damage. This stress is why people get gut-rot, diarrhea, nausea and bloating. Purple-K prevents this by giving you a 100% stable creatine source.

How does Purple-K stop the toxic conversion from creatine to creatinine?
Purple-K is buffered creatine. The pH level of Purple-K is between
12-14 and this prevents it from breaking down in any liquids - even stomach acids. The exclusive Kre-Alkalyn® pH Controlled Delivery System® makes this possible. The patent covers all pH levels between 7-14. This forces the pH of all other creatine products to be 6.9 or less; which means they will convert to toxic creatinine.

What are the other advantages to Purple-K?
• Use only milligrams of Purple-K compared to the heaping spoonfuls
needed with regular creatine.

• None of the side effects of regular creatine.

• Purple-K works from the very first serving giving you immediate
results. No loading phase is required.

• You save money and get better results using as little as 1-3
grams per day.

• Purple-K neutralizes lactic acid so you can increase your stamina
and perform at higher levels.

• Purple-K will maximize your strength to weight ratio, because
there is no water retention.

How does Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE) compare to Purple-K?
Simply, CEE falls short. Here is why: CEE processing involves reacting regular creatine with hydrochloric acid and alcohol. This process does not protect CEE from converting to hazardous creatinine. Also, the alcohol residuals can not be cleaned, making CEE contaminated and unsafe.

How does Tri-Creatine Malate compare to Purple-K?
Tri-creatine malate also falls short because it converts to toxic creatinine.

Who can benefit from Purple-K?
YOU CAN!!! Purple-K is used by millions of bodybuilders to increase muscle mass and is used by athletes who want to excel. Everyone
can use Purple-K because it is safe and it works!

Red face The Diet

How are ya? Hope you are all putting 100% into everything you do! I am...

As promised I am back for another segment to THE PURPLE-K PHENOMENON!!

THE DIET:

My meal planning has...and always will take top priorty in my life. There is nothing that is more important. I believe rest/recovery is a close second and training is right up there as well. I also maintain a positive cheerful attitude,
when facing all the challenges my life might have to offer. Remember...mental stress will inhibit your perfomance dramatically.

Since I have a very high metabolism I will continue to consume 6-8 meals a day. Each meal will average 35-50g protein, 50-75g carb, and 10-20g fat.
All my food choices will be 100% natural and of the highest quality.
H2O is a top priority as well, trying to get 3-5 liters/day. I am going to try and eliminate as many variables as possible. Which means the supps are going to be limited to the basics. They are as follows....

Whey iso/conc.~45g 2x/day
Udos oil~1tblsp 2x/day
Multi vit/min 1tab 2x/day
Vit C 500mg 3x/day
Vit E 400iu 2x/day
Tribulus Terrestris 1g 3x/day
Glucosimine/Chonrontine blend 500g/400g 2x/day

PURPLE-K 2CAPS 2X/DAY~EVERYDAY
FUBAR 2 CAPS TRAINING DAYS ONLY

I have read conflicting evidence on the effects of CAFFINE and creatine use.
Can someone...Gym God?
Perhaps clarify this for me...since PURPLE-K is a KRE-ALKALYN.
What can I say...I luv my coffee!

I will say for the record that I don't know everything(far from it).
So your suggestions are encouraged...

Time for another meal...I'll be back later with the final segment...

Cheers,

Todd

Oh ya...I see a great beginning and a lesson to be learned. I can't put a finger on it...but there is a lesson to be learned folks. Stay posted with the man from the North.

As for caffeine and creatine use or even caffeine with any other sort of nutrients: Since caffeine is a diuretic - 'I' beleive that you piss out a good part of the nutrients that you consume. Therefore it is always good to take into consideration the timing of supplement use as well as the additional support of other nutrients such as micro-nutrients and macro-nutrients and even phyto-nutrients. Although Purple-K contains the superior Kre-Alkalyn, I can not say that you will not piss it out with caffeine. Nutrients is nutrients.

Although everything is being mixed up and tossed around in the gut...this is my suggestion for taking Purple-K and 'COFFEEHOLICS'. Non-Workout days - Take 2 Purple-K upon rising with a full glass of water minimum. Start drinking your coffee 30 minutes later. Workout days - Coffee or FUBAR or any other kick you in the ass product, take 30 minutes before training and then take 2 Purple-K 15 minutes before workout and 2 capules after workout.

While I am on this. It is not unheard of for people to begin to feel the results of Purple-K the very first time. Whether it be creatine or Purple-K - it begins to do it's work immediatelty. The difference between the Purple-K and regular creatine though is that you will not receive any bloating or water retention...only REAL gains. I noted this because many people think they are having a placebo effect...nope.

Todd...its all yours now bro. I am looking forward to it.

Right now the evidence is inconclusive for creatine and caffeine use. The theory is that caffeine will reduce your strength.

This is my take on it. I don't think caffeine is the "problem" I think it is the coffee and it's components. Coffee contains more than one diuretic. Overall, it may cause a slight diuretic effect, not very significant and impair performance. That is what recent studies are showing.

The studies I have read looks at an acute effect (short term) effect and not a chronic (long term) effect over a period of time. Most studies I have seen focus on one workout but you have to examine at a chronic use of caffeine and creatine will do (Damn! I think I might be onto something for a thesis in one of my classes )

You would perhaps eventually get a loss of water within a few hour time period, but over a time of a day or two, your body will counteract the effects.

So when you do take caffeine you will prolly have a higher volume output ie. more urine and more sweating. But chronically the effects seem to be negligible.

Edit: Editted for clarity

TIME WILL TELL GG....TIME WILL TELL

k....on to the important issue of the training...

As you all know there are countless ways to train ones body. Your program should reflect your goals. I have been training for 17 years and let me tell you, it isn’t easy to continuously make progress. My training philosophy is modeled after the late Mike Mentzer. All my workouts are brief, intense, and infrequent. Since I am entering a strength/mass phase, each bodypart will be trained only once every 5-7 days. This should ensure for complete recovery.

I am just at the tail end of my recovery phase. I have been dealing with a left foot injury, that occurred back in mid august. I was doing negative only calf training and stretched a few tendons and ligaments. I have recovered to the point where it’s @ 90%ish. So leg training has been limited to extensions and curls, and nothing for calves at all.

My form in all movements is perfect, always using a full range of motion. The rep tempo is primarily 3-1-2 and sometimes 2-1-2 when using max poundages. Rest time will average 1-3 min. No session will go beyond 1 hour total time. I will perform only 2 work sets per exercise. The first in the 4-8 rep range, and 2nd in the 10-15 rep range. I will be doing a 8 min treadmill warm-up and that's it~no extra cardio.

I will finish my 3 day split by weeks end and go to a 4 day split.
I am prioritizing chest, hams, and calves. The split is a push/pull type program.
I will train instinctively, taking extra rest days when needed. Never training more than 2 days in a row. The split looks like this…

Day 1: Chest/Delt/Tri
Day 2: Quad/Ham
Day 3: Back/Bi
Calves and abs will be trained on rest days

Yesterday(mon)I popped my PURPLE-K and headed for the gym with Pantera cranked!
It was CHEST/DELT/TRI day!!! All can say is don't get in my way!!!
This is how it went. PRs are in brackets.

Time:1:25pm
Incliine Hammer strength press 90x10,180x7,270x4,*320x6,*270x9.5(360x3.5)
Life fitness military press 120x4,160x2,*190x5,*150x10(215x9)
Hammer strength flat press 180x3,*270x5.5,*180x13(300x4,230x7)
Ez-bar pushdowns 150x4,190x3,*215x7,*180x9.5(235x8)>>>Time
1 arm life fitness side lateral 120x3,170x2,*202.5x11+1,*170x12(240x13)
Cable cross-overs 70x3,*85x16,*60x16(105x6,95x12)
Overhead 1 arm dbell ext 24x4,*35x14.5(50x5)
Time:2:30
*=working sets, all to positive failure.
Next weeks session will be primarily free weights.
I will add 5-10 pounds to each exercise every session, depending on how I feel

24 hours later there is a bit of soreness 4/10 nothin' major. Still new after layoff. All in all it was the best session I have had in over a month. Considering I only had 4 hours sleep the night before, I'm quite pleased.

GYM GOD IS RIGHT! PURPLE-K WORKS RIGHT FROM DAY-1. NO PLACEBO HERE!

Tomorrow is LEG DAY! Time to quite pussy footin' around!

All this typing has made me hungry! You just read my longest post ever!

I will keep future posts brief and to the point. Thanks for hangin' out...

i felt great my first lift too, and of course I attributed it to the placebo effect.
However after reading multiple logs on it, and GG attest that it works immediatly, i am convinced the product works from day 1.

and im sure a big guy like yourself knows if a product is workin. good luck

LEG DAY~DAY#3 ON PURPLE-K

Well going in I had an uneasy feeling as usual, because of the foot recovery.
I have not had a heavy leg session in 6 weeks. I decided it was time to throw caution to the wind. Did 6 minutes on the treadmill the foot felt 95%...
I had a good nights sleep prior and 4 meals in me and almost 3lt. H2O.
The PURPLE-K + FUBAR was coursing through my veins, and White Zombie bashing my skull...a perfect combination.

Here's how it went...

Time:2:10pm
Weight:172.6~85% Full
*Note: I also make sure and stretch between all sets.
PRs in brackets

Hack~feet cls+hi~0lbx10,90x8,180x6,270x4,360x2,450x3,*540x10 ,*450x14(640x12)All reps to parallel or slightly lower~ Tempo 3-1-2 ~ Rest time 2-3 min. Both work sets to fail.No spot/Knee wraps.

Stiff Deads~135x4,225x3,*315x6(short of fail/almost puked) *275x10(315x15)
*Note: slightly distacted during this exercise.Tempo 2-1-2~(both sets s/f)>>>TIME 2:45

Leg Ext~80x3,130x2,*170x7,*120x12,(195x8) Tempo 2-1-2 Both wk set to fail

Life fit Seat leg curl~150x3,195x2,*240x9,*195x14,(260x11) Tempo 2-1-2/fail

Time:3:05...plus 5min cross trainer.

All in all it was a great workout! I gave my all and will definately feel it in the days to come. I plan on a light 20 minute walk later this eve and tomorrow as well. The foot and everything else held up. Not sure when I'll be ready to train calves...soon...within a week...I hope.

I have to thank you all again for your support. It means alot...Thanks PURPLE-K + Gym God!
I tell myself before every set that the whole world is watching.
A great way to put some positive pressure on oneself.

...Damn! My legs are feelin' sore already...

Another meal and some light cardio, is just moments away...

Back later...Next session is Back/Bi....abs?....ah...f@ckem...

Cheers,
Todd

Yeah...I here ya...time waits for no one. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

DAY#5 ON PURPLE-K~BACK/BI

Well it's been 48 hours after leg day and damn! They haven't been this sore in ages. Quads:5/10~Ham;4/10=P.M.S. Activity level has been very low all week.

Diet has been bang on...avg 300g/pro/day~5-600g/carb/day~75-100g/fat/day
Actually had a whole 780g loaded pizza yesterday. I NEED THE CALS!!!!

This is the final session in my 3 day split. I'll take a couple days off and go into a 4-day split, still prioritizing chest/hams/calves.

Here's how fridays(nov17) session went...

TIME:1:00pm
WEIGHT:174.7~90%full(glycogen)~3lt. H2O
*=work set
PRs in brackets

Med neut. grip chin~bodyx5,bodyx4,body+25lbx2,*body+45x8,*bodyx12 ,(body+75lbx5)tempo 2-1-2 ~ full range of motion

1 arm low cable row~120x5,170x3,*215x6+1,*180x11.75(235x9+2)tempo2-1-1

TIME:1:30

Alt dbell hammer curl~40x3,55x5,*70x6+1,*50x16(85x3,80x5,75x9)tempo 2-1-1

pulldown med neut. grip~115x4,*165x6(?)tempo2-1-2

straight arm pulldowns~100x4,*120x9,*90x18(?)tempo2-1-2

1 arm life preacher curl~50x2,*60x7.75,*45x9,(80x4,70x7)tempo2-1-2

rev pec deck~120x2,*135x8.75,*105x12(?)

TIME:2:00
All sets to positive fail. Constant stretching all the way through session.
?=will need to update my new logbook A.S.A.P.

All and all it was another great session! I had the gym to myself, which is always nice. The weather up here is just beautiful as well...and............

MY BODYWEIGHT IS UP JUST OVER 3 AND A HALF POUNDS!

Could it be that whole pizza I had yesterday?

So far so good! I'll be doing a bodycomp in about a week or 9 days.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!!!

Sweet! 3.5 lbs is alot to gain. But a question were are the deadlifts for back day? Or are you still cautious 'bout your foot?

Talking Deads or no deads? That is the question...

Quote:

yeah it is sweet...I'll be steppin' on the scale again later today.

As for the deads...they are no doubt THE KING OF COMPOUND MOVEMENTS.

I'm sure my foot is ready for any indirect work, but any med/heavy isolated movements is still a no-no for a few weeks. Gonna try some light calf training today.

Back to deads...can't say I've done them in over 6 months, maybe a year...I have been incorporating semi/stiff deads for HAMS(wed), and found that my lats were sore for back day on friday. Since I am prioritizing HAMS I figured the stiff deads needed to be in there. For me to add MORE deads a few days later for back day, would be too much for me to recover from. I was almost thinkin' of training hack with hams and quads on a separate day. I dunno...

This is a 4-day split I use alot and will start again today...

Day#1
CHEST~inline free bar;flat free bar;upper cable cross;decine hammer pr
BI~~~~stand straight bar cable curl;alternate dbell hammer curl

DAY#2
DELT~seat smith press;1 arm dbell side lateral/or life 1arm s/lat;free shrugs
TRI~~e-z bar pushdns;overhead 1-arm rev. cable ext/or dips

DAY#3
LEGS~hack squat;1-leg press(hi/deep);2-leg ext;lying 2-leg curl;walking dbell lunge

DAY#4
BACK~chins(med pro/grip);deads(floor);1-arm neut (hammer str)row;dbell pullovers
REAR DELT~rev. pec deck
CALVES~donkey calf machine;seated calf; TIBIALIS~rev. lying leg curl

ABS~~~F@CK 'EM

Still will continue to incorporate all the previous principles, with the exception of trying to get my daily cals above 4000. I'll be adding 1tblsp 100% nat. PB to every meal and hittin' WENDYS' for a combo#4 3x/week.

...well it's about 40 hours after back/bi and in terms of PMS.
Back~3/10...BI~6/10
Quads~1.5/10 HAMS~1/10
CHEST/DELT/TRI~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A-OK!!!

Plan on gettin' in 3 meals and Findin out where my bench is @ today...
I'll be skippin BIS altogether this rotation. I find it benifical to skip a bodypart once every week or 2 to give it that extra rest.

As for the above program, I'm open to suggestions....fire away!

later,
T

Question! In your very first post in the log you said you have 75% glycogen levels. How did you determine that?

I like the 3.5 pounds...pizza!!!

That was a great week of training and I am looking even more forward to this week.

As for the abs...everybody has a washboard except some have a little more laundry on top of it than others.

Smile DAY#7 ON PURPLE-K~CHEST/[BI(off)]

Good Question It's hard to be accurate when determining this important factor. So all I can do is aproximate by reviewing my last 48-72 hours of activity and nutrient intake. Since I'm in a strength/mass phase, one could assume that my Glycogen levels would always be above 75%. There are days when activity is high and carbs are low(god forbid!), this would put me in a depleted state. I'm eating carbs 50-75g up untill my last meal @ 11pm.

PIZZA+WENDYS! A staple in any MASS phase. It was the most intense week of training since the show! I think I might tone it down this upcoming week...

....feelin' fairly beat-up. Probably cause I threw in a REST-PAUSE REP @ the end of a few sets. What can I say? You need to FORCE the body to adapt.

Either way...today was CHEST DAY/skipped BIS...and you can be sure it was a lesson in pain. Here are the #s...

Alot of times it's mind over matter, but over the years I have learned to block out all distractions and get the most out of every set. I decided to stick with the same movements I had used in the previous sessions. This is the only way to determine any progress.

I'm still getting 6-8 hours sleep/night and 3 meals prior to each session. H20 is right up there as well 4-5lt./day. Enough of the B.S. Here's the #s...

..............where do I start?

I have not only let you down but myself as well. Sorry about the incomplete test, due to a trip to the deep north(oilpatch). I sure did pay for my sins! The average temp was -35c not including the wind chill. Stuck in camp in the middle of nowhere 4 hours from the nearest paved road! I don't recomend it @ all. The cash was excellent but the sacrifices were far to great.

That was then~this is now!

Just scored a wicked job training to be a fitness equipment technician. There are 8 World Health Clubs here in Calgary that 2 of us will be maintaining. It's the biggest health club chain in Alberta! I get a bountiful salary, company vehicle, phone, expense account, full benifits, and quarterly bonuses!

Life is good!

Today...saturday march 17,2007 is the begining of...

THE PURPLE-K REBIRTH~DAY #1

This time around I will be taking 3 Purple-K capsules 2x/day. The cals are still going to be high as before, with the same macro-nutrient ratios. I don't plan on "dieting" for about 12 weeks, but will eat clean. Still prioritizing the same bodyparts, chest, hams, and calves. The left foot is @ 98%~still hesitant on high intensity.

Bodycomp:174.2lbs @5'5" 75%full H20~2l.

Delt~49"
Chest~44 3/8"
waist~31 1/2 and 34 5/8
Quad~24 1/2
Arm~17 3/8
Calf~15 1/8r 15L

skinfold:
pec~4mm
bi~2mm
tri~3mm
ab~8mm
si~4mm
ss~8mm
k~9mm
Q~5mm
c~3mm

I'll be back with todays training session in another post, due to the fact my computer likes to crash frequently @ the worst of times!@#$#

Finally...LEG DAY!

Well...here we go again!

Just had 5 consecutive rest days, and haven't trained legs in 2 weeks! I have had a minor tweek in my right knee, so I had an excuse to skip legs.

NO MORE EXCUSES! TIME IS RUNNIN' OUT!

Down with the PURPLE-K and off to battle!

I kept the session to the bare minimum to play it safe. Yet still brought about some intensity, even though the battery in my mp3 died.

Here's how it went...

Time 4:05

Hack (feet cls) 0lbx8, 90x10, 180x6, 270x6, 360x5,*450x21 tempo 3-1-2

1 leg press (deep) 140x4, 225x4, 315x4, *385x12 tempo 3-1-2

strive leg ext #10x6, #13x3, *#16x11, *#12x13+3 tempo 2-1-1

strive lying 2-leg curl 70lbx6, *100lbx8, 80x6 tempo 2-1-2
*=WORK SET
Time:3:50 (with partner)

4:10....3 MORE PURPLE-K!!!

All felt good and will get even better! Tomorrow will be chest/delt.

Time to eat!!! AGAIN!!
