1) Home ownership. They've got you convinced that you have to own a home and if you rent then you're a sucker, when in reality it's the exact opposite. Nobody actually owns their home. They rent it from the bank and pay property taxes on it forever.
2) Marriage. Speaks for itself.
3) Careerism. Enjoy your 30 year career where at the end they'll replace you the day after you retire and forget all about you and your "service" no matter how irreplaceable you think you are. 30 years of trading each hour of your life while you're at work for whatever your employer has decided each hour of your life is worth to them for you to be there. All so you can get a retirement for the remainder of your life once you stop working. Definitely will seem worth it when you're in your 50's-60's that you spent most of your time at work. Not.

Unemployment/welfare
BRB spend more time filling out paperwork to justify having looked for a job than it would have taken to earn the equivalent amount in a job
BRB can’t go anywhere because can’t miss the meetings with the welfare officer
BRB cant relocate without having to start the whole process over again
BRB having to give a weekly blowjob to the welfare officer so he doesn’t cut off your payments

Much as I hate to admit it, having kids / getting married.
Too fukkin jaded bros. I feel like it's some kind of inherent responsibility to me since I didn't really have a father growing up except for my Grandpa. I'm the last male to carry the family name. Feel like it's within my wheelhouse to be a strong man/good father and husband, I just don't trust the climate these days...
In the end I'm glad I didn't really pursue any of my gfs in that way. I just always knew that marriage was something from a couple generations ago. (Grandma and Gpa are still alive, have been married for over 50 years. :])
Didn't mean to get all lengthy, in the end I feel the risks and responsibilities outweigh the reward.
