It gives the ability to stay in contact via phone, email (personal and/or office), and text.
It also provides the ability to read, create, and edit word/excel documents, instantly send video messages, keep track of appointments, contacts, etc, and you can watch youtube and google videos, plus its an mp3 player.
I don't have a blackberry mind you, I have a Treo 700P. Fox news used a Treo to show first hand footage of the Liddle plane crash, it's also being featured in the upcoming Russell Crowe movie.
