i had a friend who used to be an extra on a popular tv show on wb. there are websites that list acting jobs, but i can't remember the url for it. try using google to see if you can come up with something.

One of my female friend was in Tom Cruise movie where he was a hired hit with that black guy. She was one of the girls sitting with the guy that Tom Cruise killed in the club. She said Tom Cruise is short and to make him look taller they would have him stand on a box when he's next to someone tall. She said for that one part alone it took 3 days to film and she got paid $20 an hour.

Doesn't matter how ugly you are most of the time, as long as you there *there*, they will cast you as an extra. It's extremely easy to get a job as an extra in California. I just didn't really care for it, seeing as you only get paid like 100-200 dollars, but you spend the WHOLE day at the casting place.
My school told us about castings, like lots of people from my high school were in Dodgeball(ben stiller), and they shot American Pie 2 at my middle school and high school. Lots of jobs as extras here, too bad I don't really have time for it.

Role as an Extra!
I was a paid extra in Mr. 3000...not really a big deal at all! It was two full days worth of work which mostly involved sitting around. I didn't have a speaking role or anything. It was cool though to see myself on the big screen for my 3 seconds of fame. I got to meet and talk to both Angela Bassett and Bernie Mac. I have to admit though I was pretty disappointed by the movie...it was pretty lame in my estimation. All I did to get in the movie was attend a casting call...filled out the application and submit a headshot. I think it helps to have a professional/semi-professional headshot. Mine was neither, but I just happened to be luck! Drop me a line if you have more questions!

i got about 10 seconds of air time on the show 'Is It Real?' on the national geographic channel. I played a vetrenarian. Kinda sucked because they dubbed over my lines with the narrator's voice. Oh well
I also had a pretty significant role in a commercial for my college

www.centralcasting.com finds work for extras. I think it's only in Southern Cali but not sure, you should check out the website anyway.
