First thing in the morning it varies from 39-42. Everytime I'm at a doctor and they take my pulse, they do it about 3 times before asking me about it. I just sit back and snicker.

Just checked and hit 64. Middle of the day, at work, sitting and trolling the Misc forums.
Wow, strong hearts.

I think it might be something somewhat genetic with my family too. My dad is just an average guy and his is in the 40s. During a sleep disorder test he was having, his heart rate dropped down to 29. So maybe its not so good mine is low.
But then again, I'm extremely active and have great blood pressure so whatever. I'll worry about it after my first heart attack.

If my resting heart rate is around the 50's does it mean it will take extra work to get it up?

80-90, I think.
Resting heart rate alone isn't indicative of physical fitness, though. IMPROVEMENT on that rate, however, is.

Curious, does this number have anything to do with BP?

At one point when I was takin ephedrine it was about 90-95, I remember sitting in class and it was 110, I was thinking that my times over, I went home and just prayed, drank some herbal tea, breathed slow, and got past it, phew. Now I barely drink coffee.
Im also curious, does bp affect hr? Because my bp is abnormally high.

Same here. I'm usually around 139/71, but I got a HR of 60.

You don't wanna get it up. Lower is better. 50's is VERY good. Like super-fit.
Isn't the average persons 70-80?

My bp was 92/60 last time I check several weeks ago, my RHR is in the 50's. Sometimes I get light headed when I stand up though, that's the only bad part.
