Steel Cut Oats
I've read where steel cut oats are an excellent source of carbs for bulking. My local grocery store just started carrying steel cut oats from Quaker. The problem is that these oats take 30 minutes of prep time, boilling on the stove. I don't have 30 mins to wait for oats.... Does anyone know if there's an "instant" variety available (ie 1-2 mins in the microwave)?
Thanks..

Yea they're called instant oats. You don't need to cook oats, just eat them raw.

Aim for 0.5gxBW in carbs (Mix of high GI and low GI is optimal IMO) and work from there.

Advice*- Boil enough water in pot for ammount of oats you want the night before, then when water is boiling add oats. Turn off flame, cover let sit over night. Come morning all you gota do is turn on the stove and theyll cook just like regular oats, or they can already be eaten from the pot without cooking too long as they will be soft.

Whenever you have time, make a bunch and put it into a container and put it in the fridge. That way, you won't have to wait on it.

The same nutrition macros as rolled oats. However, I find them for filling for the serving size.
I eat them in place of normal oats when I am hungry in the morning, and know I might not have a chance to eat much for atleast a few more hours (during camping, before paintball, before holiday shopping, etc).
