Hernia surgery and heavy squats / deads

I had a hernia when I was 17 years old, got the webbing done and everything has been fine for the last 12 years. I have been getting bigger and bigger squats on Marks Starting Strength and I think its starting to cause a problem. I did squats two days ago (set to go again today) but woke up this AM sore right in the area of where they cut you open.

I have decided to forgo my squatting for today, just to see what happens. I dont want to go back under the knife blowing out my abs again so I am thinking about dropping my poundages a little bit.

Anyone have any experience with hernia surgery and squatting?

Have the same problem. Not usually from squating, but when I really hit my abs hard or frequently, I will get sore right under the incision, sp?, but think about it, you are actually tearing the muscles, breaking them down when lifting, so yeah, it's gonna be sore where it's sewn together, cause it's trying to rip apart! I don't know if this is a good explaination, but it's what I tell myself when it hurts. No pain, no gain though brotha.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Im not worried about the pain, i'm worried about spilling my guts at the rack. I've heard that the webbing actually creates a stronger area than the original muscle, but I wanted to hear from someone else that has survived the same issue. Thanks and rep'd.

I had two hernia operations the first one was cut and stitch and when I was doing leg presses it erupted. My second operation they inserted a mesh, the mesh presses against your abdominal walls and stops the intestine from popping through your abdominal wall. I could squat, leg press, deadlift, and any ab workout as well with no discomfort what so ever. If all you got was stitched you could possibly get another hernia. By the way my hernias were inguinal hernias.
