Special Weider Tribute. If You Are A Bodybuilder, Contribute!
I am compiling a special tribute to the Weider's. Over the past couple months, we have had an inside look at the Weider headquarters, podcasts with Ben and Joe, interviews, book launch and much more.
Joe & Ben Weider are a huge part of bodybuilding and have helped many of us achieve our goals from reading their books, watching the videos and reading their magazines.
How have the Weider's influenced your bodybuilding career?
Share with us your positive experiences on how the Weider's have helped influence your bodybuilding career.

I started training 23 years ago when I looked around for guides to nutrition, reps, sets, frequency etc there was not a lot of information back then. The weider books and magazine publications were the best at that time and were a valuable source of information for me.
I am of the opinion that there contributions to Bodybuilding have been huge.

Props to the Weiders. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for their efforts.

So, if I post an objective viewpoint of their influence over bodybuilding - in particular, professional IFBB sanctioned events, I get permabanned?

Weider had me in his magazine flex uk when i was about 13 yr old with Bertil Fox, i apreciated the exposure even if it was only in the letters page on a serious note the magazines were great flex uk got me into bbing big time. Inspiring, eevn if they were studio pics and spray on sweat for the guys in them, it was still good and i loved the free posters in the centre pages.

You do realise that there will be a few people trolling this thread saying how they fix the Mr. O?
Anyway, the masters blaster has to be the best bb book I have ever bought!

Joe Weider is a snakey guy from what I hear, but it doesn't matter, him, Tony Hawk and Vince McMahon will always be three of the top most respected guys in my books. They saw something that no one else did and they each gave birth to a movement. Nobody laid a foundation for bb'ing like Weider has. Not even Arnie could do as much for the actual sport of bodybuilding, he may have paved a road, but there'd be no land in the first place if it weren't for Joe. God Bless.

Ben and Joe layed down the solid foundation of bodybuilding. They brought in bodybuilding's most popular icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger and made him successful. From there, Arnold was able to glorify bodybuilding and make it more well-known.
Nevertheless, without the Weider brothers, the IFBB wouldn't be as successful as it is today.

what was the first? okay lets see now....Montreal is a big metropolitan city, yet has low cost housing, Montreal has the best university in Mgill, the best yet, it costs the lowest of all the great universities.
What else..Montreal is one of the most multi-culturaled places in the world. Askmen.com named montreal 1st or 2nd for having the most beautiful women in the world. Montreal's escorts costs less then alot of the metropolitan cities. I do admit tough, only New York is better but look how much does it cost to live there? How much does it cost for scoool there? I mean back then the poor people like latinos and blacks could go there and start a life and family, now nobody can really move there unless you already have a life like a good degree.
