Just wondering if any you guys are familiar with the old Underoath?
There isn't alot of it, because they didn't get more popular until about 3/4 of the band left and they changed their sound.
Seriously, it's some of the harder stuff that I've heard, with the songs being no shorter than 6-7 minutes, and as long as 12.
If you can, get "Heart of Stone", "The Last", "Act of Depression", "Watch me Die", "A Love So Pure", and "And I Dreamt of You"
If you absolutely hate the Underoath that you've heard, then there's a pretty good chance you'll love this stuff. Alot of it is hard to come by though.

The old stuff is drastically different than say, They're Only Chasing Safety, it's like listening to another band altogether. They've definitely drifted towards mainstream and radio-friendly music. However, they still have heavier moments...I'm a fan of both styles.
Personally i thought They're Only Chasing Safety was their worst album.
I think define the great line is their best album.

COTP was epic, and the new stuff is pretty good too. For some reason I couldn't stand DTGL. Has anyone seen that dallas taylor interview where he said they used to have a female singer during COTP that did opera like vocals? that would have been awesome to hear.
I only liked The Changing Of Times, Act of Depression and Cries Of The Past are hilariously bad.
Only if you don't like metal. They're a pretty good combo of melodic death metal, black metal, and hardcore. I've seen it called "blackcore". The changing of the times would be good if dallas actually fit with the music, the guitarists would actually play something decent, and if they'd take out those lame keyboards. So pretty much its just bad.
