"Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather

There's gotta be some boxing fans on the boards. Anways, Mayweathers fighting the WBC Welterweight Champ on November 4, Carlos Baldomir, who hasn't lost since 1998. Mayweather, whose only been knocked down once in his career, is an 8-1 favorite. Does anybody give Baldomir a chance in this fight? If Floyd wins, watch out for a De la Hoya/Mayweather fight in the future (both will be offered nearly $10 million for the fight; De la Hoya will have to man up.)

Never seen Baldomir but Mayweather is a pretty smooth fighter with quick hands. I think the DelaHoya train left the station a couple years ago but you never know I suppose

Let's not get into that on the forum. I don't want to get bashed on here.

I'll say that it depicts boxing matches inaccurately, and Tommy Gun is a big dousche bag. That's it.

Man mayweather is awesome! I've seen a couple of his fights. He's a cocky mother f'er but damn is he a good boxer.

Hell yeah. Agreed on all terms. In the new ESPN the magazine, he said that he's a better fighter than Ali. I wasn't around when Ali fought, obviously, so I wouldn't dare comment on that.

You got that right. He really hasn't fought anybody too great yet. But there aren't many good boxers in his weight category to fight. He TKO'd Arturo Gatti, got the decision against Zab Judah in his last fight, and beat Jose Luis Castillo twice (115-111, and 115-113.)

I've never seen a guy bleed like Gatti before. I almost feel bad for him with the way he cuts.

I like mayweather a lot but he has been reluctant to fight de la hoya for a long time. This up coming fight .. he might be in for a good fight cause even though i think hes a great fighter .. he hasnt been fighting really big time opponents. I dont know anything about Baldomir but he seems to be a good fighter. I have never seen him fight so i cant say hes great.

De la Hoya doesn't want to fight him, either. They almost have to fight after this, who could pass up $10 million? Mayweather's dad is De la Hoya's trainer. Wonder who he'd be rooting for?

It's not for sure yet, but I read that if Mayweather wins this fight they'd both be offered that much money. I long to see the two of them get in the ring together!!

Baldomir humiliated Gatti in Atlantic City (very pro-Gatti)...Baldomir embarassed Morales in their fight...But with Mayweather, to qoute Rocky IV "whatever he hits he destroys", Floyd does not miss, almost ever it seems, in the Gatti fight, Floyd tattoed him with everything he threw...I'm hoping Baldomir wins just 'cause I like to root for the underdogs...

But I expect Floyd to win...

Mayweather is gonna kill this guy. Floyd is the best right now pound for pound and I KNOW boxing. But when he meets De La Hoya, Oscar is gonna knock him out. Oscar is wayyyyyy to strong for him. Floyd can barley knock out guys 135 he won't knock hurt a guy that fights at 154 and 160..even if they meet at 147, floyd will be slower and weaker (because of the weight gain, FAT not muscle which =power) And oscar will get faster (he was the best at 147) and floyd has never been hit by a guy as big as him, and that can BOX as well as oscar :-)

If we're going purely by size, then why would you say anything different about Baldomir? A year ago he was 181 lbs. He was huge. Boy, do I hope De La Hoya and Mayweather get in the ring together!!

I've seen Baldomir in his last two fights, he's a very technical fighter. Mayweather is just too damn fast for this guy, thats the bottom line. Will be fun to watch though.

The DeLaHoya fight is a tough one to call. DLH has trouble with fighters that can move and counterpunch (Mosley for example). I like him but if Mayweather doesn't slow down immensely I could see him embarrass DLH.

I definitely thought that De La Hoya won the second Mosley fight, but I know what your saying...
