14-Year Old Girl Birthday Party Theme Ideas

My daughter turns 14 next month. We have been trying to come up with a theme for her party but it seems like everything has already been done. She is going to a scavenger hunt this weekend, there was a luau a few months back. Does anyone have any ideas? At this time it for girls only. And it has to be an indoor party as we live in Kansas and it is chilly in November.

Any ideas or suggestions will be welcome. Please!!!!

Is she a girly girl? Or more athletic?

If girly, you could consider a spa party & decorate your house like a spa, have facial masks, manicures, & foot soaks.

I guess I should share a bit about her.

She isn't really girly but not tom-boyish either. The only sport she enjoys is volleyball. She has boys as friends but not really into boys either (yet, whew, what a relief).

She did the spa thing with girl scouts a few years ago and thought it was lame. She is going to a scavenger hunt birthday party this weekend, she has been to a pink themed party, everyone had to wear all pink to get in, a luau was another one, and a 60's era party.

I am thinking about a murder mystery theme. Do you think they are too young for something like that? We have access to a cabin in the woods with a lake and fire pit and such, thought we could do it out there just to add to the mystery part. But I am a bit concerned about supervision out there if I have too many kids.

What happened to the days when you could just have cake and ice cream and call it a party..............

I don't know about your area, but I recently was hired out to do henna for a 16th birthday party. It's very popular right now, you could build something around that theme, even (something world beatish or tribal or celtic stuff)

    The search is over

You aren't going to believe what she decided on. She said the other day on the way to school that she wishes she was 7 years old again, no drama, no boy/girl crap and life was just easier. So she has decided to have a 7 year old party. She is having a Bratz party - complete with pin the tail on the donkey, egg roll, clothes pin drop, etc, then a sleepover. She can't wait to play these little kids games with her so grown up friends. Especially the egg roll (where you have to roll the egg with your nose only across the room). I now have to decide how far to take this Bratz party.

I just had a mall scavenger hunt for my daughter and 11 of her friends. We did 3 teams of 4, the girls HAD to stay together, and the first team back won a little prize bag of goodies. My daughter and her friend made tie-died team shirts the weekend before and each team had a name (i.e. "team Saget"...I'm old and don't get it, but the girls thought it was funny). If you do that, my only suggestion would be give them a BIG list of like 20 - 30 items. I had things like: mascara wand from MAC, cologne sample from Macy's, one piece of red candy (I have each team $10), a discarded receipt, napkin from Starbucks, etc...

We did a light dinner first at one of the restaurants (it has happy hour & super cheap. i order a selection of half-price appetizers), then I waited in the food court while they hunted. Each team had my cell phone number on their list of items & they had a blast! We had cake & drinks and my daughter opened gifts in the food court when finished.

Have a Lady Gaga birthday party. (That's something I would've wanted when I was 14). Go road-tripping and plan a day at the beach.
