Vote on separate section for guy questions
I had an idea That I thought everyone could vote on here.
There are so many posts started by guys in here about "Ladies, what do you think about guys who ______ ?"
Some of these questions are legit and some of us don't mind answering them. Others just get fed up with guys asking such questions. I personally don't mind joining in sometimes.
Anyway, my idea is to have a separate forum in this section called something like "Guys who need female opinions", that way, the other sections won't get cluttered with guys asking the same or similar questions all the time.
As I said, I don't mind when guys come in asking genuine questions but I'd rather see these posts in their own sub section.
Vote here and let me know your thoughts so I can take it to Ryan (admin).

Hey, that's a good idea (also the "help me help my gf/wife/female relative" to that area, too...) Maybe put some stickies there as well (ie want to help so and so... begin at x,y, and z)

Shouldn't those types of questions (The "Ladies, what do you think about guys who ______ ?") simply go into the General sub section?

Well, the whole idea of this poll is to figure that out. My thoughts on this are in my original post here.

my thought is that we need a separate section. Sometimes women want to ask broad or uncategorizable questions, and I often overlook the questions because of the sea of men's q's.
Great idea Titania!

Once in a while, the questions are legit - from someone who actually contributes, and listens... these are fine in the general section.
..but the ones that are just asking what "women like" - from men who don't contributwe to or post in the women's section otherwise, should just be axed. They always degenerate and the guys who post them never seem to get why they are annoying.
The problem with having a separate section for "advice from the ladies" or some such - is that it presumes the guys posting these threads are paying enough attention to notice there IS such a section, and that their thread might belong there.

Yes, let's have a section for that. However, if a man is caught posting such a question in any other part of the ladies' forum, we get to wear his balls as earrings!

Sounds like a good idea ... my only concern is, will starting a separate section for guy questions simply invite more actual trolling?

Well, it looks like the vast majority agree on setting up a new sub forum so I'll see what I can organise with the admins

M, so then if you want to have a seperate question board shouldnt us guys have a seperate board where the fake women posters can not post in as well? Only fair if guys are being sub sectioned that women should be too, after all bodybuilding is for guys i reckon not the other way round. Call it "the no-bull, no women board for serious weightlifters" that should keep the fake hot cocos and pink ladies off our backs forever

What about a seperate section for guy answers to the for women only questions? It would be "guys who want to answer female questions".

I agree.
I have a feeling that there's gonna be a ton of spam coming this way if this special forum were made, especially from a lot of the immature teenage boys. They'll see that a place for them exists in the female forum, then they'll give into the temptation to spam their own forum, and then possibly spam the rest of the female forums on impulse. It'll just be a cesspool of immature nonsense...unfortunately that's what the miscellaneous forum is there for.

If this section goes ahead, there will be a zero tolerance for trolling and spam and the rules would state that such behaviour would lead to an immediate permanent ban.
It would also mean that we can be stricter on those who post such questions out of the new sub forum (ie, in here).

Would be good to have a sub folder, then women can look if they like or just ignor questions and get on with talking about what they need / want to talk about.

IMO, there are already far too many sections for the amount of traffic. It's kinda obnoxious to have to guess where the answer to your question might be/where to post, and it means the subsections don't have enough activity to make them look alive. Even in the main Women's category, third page has "older" threads - over a week with no replies.
I think we should just let the "miscellany" questions (including those from guys) stay in the miscellany General forum, and delete those who are trolling.

Perhaps an FAQ sub folder?
What if you guys opened up a FAQ folder (like in the steroids section) which contains healthy pertinent information concerning commonly asked questions about female routines, diets and other stuff I probably have no clue about! A one-stop source where the answer you seek has likely already been posted...?
I'm sure the #1 question that gets asked here is "what kinda diet/routine do I need to set up my wife/GF with?" (which is why I'm here that and to check out Titania's guns! Good heavens! )

I prefer to leave things as they are. It smacks of inequality to me.
There are forums for us ladies to post our nutrition/training/general chat questions on so if the guys want to post in the main bodybuilding thread then its fine with me.
I also think responses liike 'scram, this is a ladies' thread' are wrong, but guess I may be in a minority there! But if a lady went into one of the other threads and was told 'scram, this is for guys' there'd be uproar!

I kinda agree with you here, but at the same time, I see this section (Women's BB) as kind of a safe haven. I've been to other sections (mainly the fat loss and misc.) and while the first section is ok, the second...I'd never in my right mind try to post a half serious thread in there. It just seems alot of the sections are overrun with immaturity (mostly from the guys) and I just feel more comfortable here. So, in that respect, I think some discrimination, if you will, is allowable. But this section is set aside specifically for the women folk, and i think it should really be respected as such. Barring whatever real advice, other than honest questions, men may be able to offer I (and this is just my opinion) think the men really ought to stay out of it. Not tryin to be a beyotch, that's just how I see it.
Now, if there was a section for JUST the men, I'd read, but I'd try to keep my big mouth shut.

I honestly don't see that there'd be any value in having a section for guys to ask things like, "Does size REALLY matter?" and "What do women really look for in a man?"
For one, these questions are asked in the Misc. all the time, and generally would do fine there, because that's basically the forum for trivial stuff anyway and because the people most likely to ask those questions tend to hang out in there the most.
And for two, every time a question like that IS asked in the Misc, the responses go like this:
1. OP guy asks question.
2. 15 guys answer the question, even though the question is directed at women. Usually with some broad generalization (no pun intended).
3. A few women answer the question, usually saying the opposite of the 15 guys.
4. The 15 guys call the women liars and re-state their original generalization.
These threads just don't have any value whatsoever, and I think it's way less about "understanding women" than just getting some random titillation or opportunity to start a pointless e-war. Let it stay in the Misc. It's hard enough to find quality informational threads on women's fitness on here, without having to dodge questions about favorite sexual positions and the like. If a man wants advice from a woman, there's always Dear Abby.
