What is causing my shoulder to twitch?

I took 2 weeks off and went back last week. I didn't get a chance to train shoulder's last week, and on sunday I started getting these shoulder twitches that last about 3 or 4 seconds then come back at random times. What could be causing this?

No idea but my shoulders used to do that too. The worst is when your eyelid starts twitching and it lasts for a good 4 hours. You can barely see it, but it's incredibly annoying. Happens to me once every few months.

You hit it right. The 2 weeks I took off, i DRASTICALLY reduced my water intake and ate like poo. Back on the water drinking now though. We'll see what happens.

There are a lot of causes of twitching. Without getting into diseases, etc., it's usually dehydration (drink more), magnesium deficiency(eat bananas and certain nuts), stress, fatigue(overall or from too much exercise), too much caffeine or other stimulant.

Magnesium? I didn't know that. I've read that it could be a potassium deficiency.

I thought that it was potassium too, so I double checked and saw magnesium.
Either way, eat a banana or two and you'll get both.

I'm never going to tell someone not to see a doctor. Twitching can be a symptom of several diseases too.

I have whole body muscle twitches...how about that for annoying. I've been to some neuros to see what was causing it, and they say its BFS - benign fasciculation syndrome. They don't know what causes it, and there is not really a remedy for it. It resolves over time to some degree. Mine has gotten way better, but I still get them.

Nothing to worry about. It's just annoying.
