What do you think will be the best release of 2006? So far, I'd have to go with Sodoms self titled album.
Sample from new album: Track 04 - City of God.

DOWN III (album name unofficial so far)
Bower (drummer) has recently stated that a new Down album will hopefully appear in 2006 after their first European tour. Keenan has stated that the new album is indeed in the writing stage, with a view to a 2006 release. Anselmo is understood to be one of the major driving forces behind the new album and is quoted as saying "I want my band back" in reference to Down.
I've been waiting for this forever, NOLA is one of my favorite albums of all time and DOWN never disappoints; these guys make some amazing music.
Simply badass.Last edited by hokiehokieVT; 06-21-2006 at 11:28 AM.

I mentioned in an earlier thread... Keep Of Kalessin - Armada. Unreal! Worth checking out.
Now, support a bb.com guy's band... www.myspace.com/dreamscapesoftheperverse
Our new album "Gignesthai" is doing pretty well so far.
The year isn't over, yet. I hope to see a few more releases blow my socks off.

Sepultura Dante XXI
Definitely one of my favorite albums of all time, let alone this year.
Hate is a powerful word; I, in turn, am a powerful man, borne from it. Your fear is my strength, your insecurity, my pride. All i have ever known is loathing... You toss aside my teachings to preach of love, which you know nothing of?! I know love... Let me show you the way. Hate... Hate was my first love.
The demons are sleepless and immaterial, death is at hand, and I am weak. Lord, help me; do not let Thy creature perish, for Thou carest for me in my misery.

BY FAR THE BEST METAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR:
Delenda by From A Second Story Window
best drummer i have ever heard, and while it is not strictly metal (it instead blends into elements of hardcore and grind like between the buried and me) it falls in the category and is ****ing amazing.NEW GOAL(s):
Regain my strength.
Put on 5 lbs of muscle.
Gain better overall fitness (strength, endurance, muscle)
"don't give up, the beginning is always the hardest."

New Mastodon, I was hoping for a step up from Leviathan. But they didn't manage that I think. I might think differently a couple of months from now. Mastodon makes good albums with one or two tracks that really stand out. Like March of the Fire Ants and Iron Tusk on their previous albums. Blood Mountain has Crystal Skull and Circle Cysquatch, those songs stand out for now. Still one of the few (relatively) new metal bands that I care for. Most bands seem to repeat what they or other bands have done before.
