Chi_town's end of 06 and Jan through August of 07 thread
Ok here we go!
My cut for the Arnold starts tomorrow morning.
I am prepping my food tonight for the next few days.
I have Hired Chris Perticari from Troponin Nutrition to do my nutrition and plan my cardio for me.
My goal is to get as lean as humanly possible by the Arnold Classsic (March 2nd-4th). 6-8% would be wonderful to reach.
I am currently at ~240 @ 16-17% BF. Weight is up 4 lbs because of my last cheat meal last night, but I should be back to ~235 in a day or two.
My first few weeks will be more of a gauge for Chris to make adjustments and see how I react to different things.
To begin with here is what I will be doing nutritionally.
Day one (high day) 7 meals
Meal 1. 50g protein 75g carbs no added fat
Meal 2. 50g protein 75g carbs no added fat (post workout meal)
Meal 3. 50g protein 60g carbs no added fat
Meal 4. 50g protein 60g carbs no added fat
Meal 5. 50g protein 60g carbs no added fat
Meal 6. 50g protein 50g carbs no added fat
Meal 7. 50g protein 20g carbs from unlimited vegetables
Day two (medium day) 6 meals
Meal 1. 60g protein (all meals are 60g protein) 50g carbs
Meal 2. 60g protein 50g carbs (post workout meal)
Meal 3. 60g protein 50g carbs, plus up to 2 cups veggies-20g carbs
Meal 4. 60g protein 20g carbs from unlimited vegetables
Meal 5. 60g protein 20g carbs from vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, green beans, as much as wanted or up to 2 cups)
Meal 6. 60g protein 10g fat from almonds or flax
Day three (low day) 6 meals
Meal 1. All meals are 60g protien again 40g carbs
Meal 2. 60g protein 50g carbs (post workout meal)
Meal 3. 60g protein 40g carbs, plus unlimited vegetables-20g carbs
Meal 4. 60g protein 20g carbs from vegetables, up to 2 cups
Meal 5. 60g protein 16g carbs vegetables (2 cups)
Meal 6. 60g protein 16g of carbs from vegetable (2 cups) 5g fish oil
I will be rotating through this over and over again.
The only modifications that will be made by me, is the lowering of carb intake on meal 2 if it's a non training day.
Other then that, I will be sticking to this diet 100%.
There will be no cheat meals (unless Chris uses them later to break a plateau or something) with the exception of Thanksgiving and Xmas,
but those will be VERY TEMPERED. I am not drinking a drop until March 1st.
My birthday is the 1st week in December and even that day I will NOT be cheating.
Now keep in mind these are starting numbers. While fat intake seems extreamly low, it's not that bad.
The numbers above are NOT counting any fat intake from my protein sources........which there will be some fat with.
I have a very specific food list, but I think it will be managable for me.
Protein Sources: Chicken Breast, Turkey Breast, LEAN Beef, Egg Whites, Whey protein, tuna, fish and ooccasionally a whole egg or two.
Carb Sources: Brown Rice, Yams, Oats, Plain rice cakes.
Veggies: Broccoli, Green Beans,, Cauliflower, All types of Lettuce.
My Cardio starts out at five 30 minute sessions a week on the stepmill.
I started my cardio as prescribed last week. I anticipate by month 3 or 4 that I will be living on that damn stepmill.
My supplements will be:
Pre Workout: NO-explode
green tea extract: 2 caps twice a day.
Ephadrine HCL: 1-2 tabs twice a day.
R-Ala: 1 cap (200mg) twice a day
Post WO-immediately after WO: 50-75g of Maize + CEE + 15g BCCA's
Post WO - 20 mins later: 50-60g of whey protein.
I am only posting my nutrition in this detail in the beginning.
Being that I have hired Troponin Nutrition, it would not be right of me to publicly post all their tweaks in as much detail as this post.
Of course I will mention what the tweaks are from time to time.
I look forward to some excellent results and can't wait to party with many of you this coming March.

interesting stuff, Pete - I look forward to watching your progress. Out of curiousity, what do your total calories look like for the 3 different days? Are they all pretty much the same or does it vary quite a bit?

Good luck with the cut, chi! You're a stronger man than I! (ok, we already knew that)

Hi Chi,
Will be following along, watching progress.
Are you going to have a regular weight and bodyfat progress report?
I was surprised to see the lettuce in there, I didn't think it had much of anything in it - or is that the point?
Don't believe anything you read on the net. Except this. Well, including this, I suppose.

I think he puts the lettuce in there for me to have if I feel I need a filler food.
I am sure I'll be using it as the cut progresses and if I get ravenously hungry. LOL
But for now I don't expect that. It wasn't until the last 6-8 weeks last year that I felt as if I could eat the house.

LOL.....I love the pics.
Maybe one year I'll dress up as Chewy for Halloween.
I am sure it would be a warm custume and with a high of 43 degrees here today, I could use it tonight.
Barb,
I am not a big sweets eater, never have been.
Now WINE on the other hand...........is a different story.
And if I can give that up, keeping my hands out of the candy bowl will be a breeze.

3 meals and 150g of carbs done so far today. Yippie !!!!
3 more meals and nothing but veggies from here on out carb wise.
Being Halloween is going to make my meal timing a bit tough, but I'll do my best to space them out properly and not too close together.
Happy Halloween !

Pete, see if you could have some pine nuts in there. Eileen posted something over at CKD about them slowing the stomach emptying. It works for me, because right now I could eat every hour on the hour and STILL be looking for another poor hapless creature to devour!

You did better than me if you resisted two bites of chili, one bite of Mexican cornbread and one miniature 3 Musketeers bar.
Hope you've had a Happy Halloween, hottie!!

Doing it right, I think.

Wow Chi, you are making me feel bad about my diet and missed cardio today! Impressive stuff and I wish you well with your quest!
Hibiscus, you make me feel a little better. For dinner and snack I had a bowl and a half of chili, two corn bread muffins (w/butter), a mini KitKat, a super mini Snickers and a bite of Lindt 85% Cocoa.
Anyway, back on topic... keep up the good work Chi and happy halloween!
