    Carbs post workout

Just looking for a little advice here. So here is my situation currently trying to gain weight but whether I was trying to bulk or cut is kind of irrelevant. How necessary is a carb supplement? I am usually able to eat within 30 minutes after my workout however the carbs I get in my meals are usually brown rice, wheat pasta, rice cakes etc. Would that "insulin spike" really be that beneficial through a carb supplement? If you have any additional information on post workout carbs I would love to hear it as well.
    Thanks

    Completely unnecessary.

That's fine, if you are hungry at that time and want to consume a meal that includes those foods.
